Hi Kim,I greatly enjoyed this video! Thanks for putting it up. Regarding the first example, "Revenue growth of Saigon Leagues", the second column states that the percentages represent the Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) over the last five years. However, when performing the calculations, you seem to assume that the second column is Compound Average Growth Rate (CAGR) data. Why is this? Thanks,Rohit

Hi Kim. Thank you for the videos, I am preparing for the PST and was wondering what advice can you give to calculate 343/1.045´5 in a matter of seconds? Thanks

simplify by adding percentages 4,5% * 5 = 22.5%, then convert it to 343 * 1/(1+22.5%), again simplify 343*(1-22.5%), meaning it's 343 - 22.5% of that number, that's 2 times 10% (easy) and one quarter of 10% - add it in a column on paper. It took me about 15 sec, but most of the mental process is already automated, so I skip conversions and just subtract sum of rates from the original number straight away.

Hey everyone! I have a question. Idk if I am right but I tried to "guess" how to discard A like this: if the amount is 342,8, I used 5% instead of the 4.5% in the chart, so it would be kinda of 17 x 5 years, it is 85 of growth during the 5 years, so if you substract 342-85 is 257. Impossible to be A: more than $325 5 years ago. Is it correct to try to discard on this way?

Hello, thanks for the videos. I have similar question, but about official practice test A. Question #4: if total Innovation capital (13,8) in Exhibit 1 were to grow by 5% per year in the future, which of the following would be the MINIMUM required annual growth in Human Capital (3,3) that would see it represent more than half of total Innovation capital in 10 years? Using formulas it's pretty straightforward: FV = PV*(1+r)^t. But how to calculate it within 2 minutes without calculator? Answer is 15%, but this method didn't work

official guide: Approximate and Eliminate. This is a calculation - and it’s not easy - but you can approximate. First you could estimate that 5% growth over 10 years totals 50% plus an extra margin for compounding, so say 60% total. So total Innovation Capital would grow by 60% to about $22tn. Therefore, you are aiming to hit at least half of this, or around $11tn. Remember from Question 3 that total Human Capital is $3.3tn? Now you can look at each response option and use the same estimation method. For Option A, 10% growth over 10 years is 100% plus a bigger extra margin for compounding, say 150% total. So $3.3tn in Human Capital would increase by 150% to about $8tn - nowhere near $11tn so you can cross this option out! For Option B - 15% growth over 10 years is 150% plus an even bigger compounding margin, say 250%. So $3.3tn increasing by 250% is more than $11tn. Circle this response.

How can you do that in this example?

Maybe my way of thinking is wrong, but I've added 5% growth to 325 two times and quickly saw that it would surpass 343, which was enough to imply it should be less than 325.

that was a great question but you are wrong ... for the option d : 342.8*0.045 = 15.426 = 15.426* 5 = 77.13 = 77.13 + 342.8 = 419.93 ... the answer clearly mentioned it should be more than 420k and here answer is 419.93 theres a diff. between then ... the answer is correct when it calls for average but it says it will be more 420k and thats wrong ... the amount makes diffrenece of 0.07k . in my consideration.. answer must be subtle.
