Annihilus is a villain we have yet to see in the MCU which makes him the perfect candidate to start this series off! In this video, "Villains We Need In The MCU: Annihilus", I break down the character of Annihilus and discuss how the MCU could potentially incorporate him into their broader plan. Wouldn't happen for a while even if he was the next villain. This whole Kang stuff is gonna take years to get through in the MCU. Though they are going more cosmic with Love & Thunder and Secret invasion so idk.

More than half of their revenue doesn’t come from us comic nerds. Most people who spend money too watch movies or buy toys and invest into assets related to marvel don’t care about how awesome the mcu could really be :(

Annihilation happening in the MCU will likely depend on whether they want to do something with the Negative Zone. That needs to be established for it to not be "sudden invasion from somewhere for some reason". If they use the Negative Zone, they can slowly build up Annihilus. Locals are referring to him as the ruler, maybe he even shows up himself once or twice as a plot device - to make sure those pesky creatures from another universe don't get too cocky in his realm... Once you have introduced him as someone you don't want to mess with, you can expand that to give him reason and means to prepare a large-scale invasion. But if they don't use the Negative Zone in some capacity beforehand, that would likely be too random to just throw in suddenly.

The first Annihilation introduced a lot of concepts from the Negative Zone that were never really followed up on that much. Like the "Opposite Force" (the Negative Zone's version of the Power Cosmic), wielded by Ravenous & his Currs just like Silver Surfer & Galactus' Heralds wielded the Power Cosmic. Would love to see these concepts & characters expanded upon in the MCU!

It opened the door for an interesting F4 run where human torch was captured by Annihilis afterwards too. Giving Mr. Fantastic more problems to science and give him the clout we never scratch the surface of in the FR movies.

The Annihilation Wave also had the Negative Zone's equivalent of super heroes, two primordial gods that are on par with Galactus and the Seekers, who each had the Negative Zone's equivalent of the power cosmic.

Knowheres head exists in the MCU and we know in the comics he was killed by Knull AND Gore the Godbutcher is confirmed to be in thor 4 and he used the necrosward aka Knulls sword. I think it’s very likely they’re building up to Knull

Yeah, but Knull is foreshadowed by that awesome Silver surfer run, which gives the origin of Galactus. I really feel like a solo Galactus movie would truly be the tip off point to get to Annihilis, but also Knull can be woven in with great result.

I was out of comics for a while in the 2000’s, and what brought me back later was seeing Annihilation and War of Kings, which of course kicked off Guardians of the Galaxy as a top tier group. Always liked how the Guardians, Annihilators, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Shi’Ar, Inhuman Royals, the Kree, Skrulls, etc were all collided together

A movie idea would be to introduce the FF and Blue Marvel at the same time. The reason they didn't help was because for 40-50 years they were trapped in the Negative Zone looking for the origin of the FFs powers. Blue Marvel after mistreatment by the government and military abandons earth with them. The snap by Tony rips a hole bringing them back, but in doing so the Annihilation Wave wiggles through. Annihilation event would then introduce Dr. Doom who is introduced as Viktor helps Reed. Reed accidentally causes an explosion scarring Viktor which starts his hatred. After defeating Annihilus Doom steals the Cosmic Comtrol Rod and throughout the next phases he begins collecting powerful artifacts.

Just last Sunday I heard on a podcast that we will see Galactus for the very first time GOTG.3 at some point. Idk if it’s a post credit scene or a part of the film. On that same podcast Marvel Studios is deep in active development on a project with the working title Galactus and His Heralds slated for later on in phase
