The origin of War Machine in MvC actually comes from a clever loophole. Capcom had been using Iron Man in their Marvel games, but he became legally off-limits for the release of MvC due to the Iron Man/X-O Manowar crossover game being in development at Acclaim Entertainment. It seems like Acclaim's contract limited the use of Iron Man and Iron Man specifically, since Capcom managed to get away with it by introducing War Machine as a thinly-veiled reskin of Iron Man.

I had to double check, the original release head re painted is from MVC2! The new armored head is closer to the animated series first season.

The reason why the original Modular head and the new Tony Stark are hard to pop on is because the the hole in them is not sufficiently stretched out yet, they're still tight. The new helmet is easy is because the figured was packed in with that head and had time to stretch out. I'm sure when the figure was assembled in the factory, the new helmet head was tight to get on.

I'm gonna be completely honest I have this figure. I will. I really wish they had gave him 2 fist. Blast effects instead of one I mean. Yeah, they're nice and all the youna being chest piece. And it would've been nice if they gave us some thrusters. You can actually plug them into the pay calls at the bottom of the feet. I'm just saying if you're gonna put them on a flight stand you wanted to at least look like it's flying. But I mean for what we got. It's great. I just wish they had given you. Another accessory for the other fist to be blasting with and thrusters. That's all, and that's really all. I wish they a game. Also, the iron red pieces do not need muscle definition on them. Cause there's supposed to be hard iron and yes, I'm glad they got the shine. But they shouldn't have had the muscle definition, the back the front. The legs they shouldn't have had that they were supposed to be the hard iron pieces of the costume of the suit. So that's all not announced wrong with the figure. I'm just saying if it ever gets re-released, I'm hoping they add in some of the extra stuff but not complaining. I love the figure. I have the finger and a tony stark head looks really cool

Glad you like this so much. Canceled my preorder after seeing how shiny this is and a few other things. The colors are true to some sources, yes, but that shine is not what it would look like to translate that into physical form, unless Tony Stark had his armor covered in a glossy clearcoat and waxed to the Nth degree, like a car on a showroom floor. And as one other reviewer said, that cannon blast effect is barely larger than a repulsor effect for the hands. That and the weird pink makes the cannon look a bit like a water gun replica of the "real" thing. Maybe it's better in person.

I thought Iron Man didn't have the mouth slit on his helmet in Marvel vs. Capcom? Wasn't that in the first season of the cartoon?

I just got him today but haven’t oppened it because of work 7-7. Can’t wait to open him.

Nice figure, love that proton canon but I'll stick with the original release, not least of which because it looks like it jumped straight from the foil variant of Iron Man #300. Also it cost me £10, that's the real reason 🤣

I'm a huge Iron Man fan and action figure collector, but the price on this is making me hesitate. Thanks for the review!
