The final review of the longest year ever is MD 20/20 Gold, an exclusive flavor they released to "celebrate" 2020. Meanwhile, yes, I'm bouncing around houses right now but luckily my brother is letting me crash at one of his rental properties. Thanks Chadwick! Happy New Year, everyone!

Man, anyone that buys Milwaukee's Beast should have to meet with a licensed personal counselor the next day as part of purchasing it. I say that as someone that used to get Milwaukee's Beast on a regular basis when my entire life was imploding and I really just wanted to die but didn't quite have the motivation to go through with it. At least when I was drinking Steel Reserve I was still young enough to have some kind of hope.

Thank you for the entertainment. I hope 2021 is kinder to you. My personal recommendation: Riunite Lambrusco. A lot of wine folk consider it trash, but I love how sweet and unsubtle it is. Roast my favorite grape!

Absinthe has a bad rep started by right-wing French reformers. The hallucinogenic "Green Fairy" qualities are pure exaggeration (there's not enough wormwood to affect a human-sized drinker), but it does contain stimulants. It has been referred to as the "Wide Awake Drunk"; Alexandre Dumas, Sr. was a big fan of it. It's legal in Europe and the US and there are some great Eastern European brands with high ABVs.

I love these videos, the reviews are v funny! My suggestion for a review is Becherovka Original. Some friends (?) brought us a bottle of these bitters back from the Czech Republic. I have never tasted anything like it! It's like an alcohol version of Bitrex.

MD 20/20 Gold is only 13% ABV (formerly 20%). Everclear is 95% ABV - you have to drink it before your tongue goes numb. The problem with Everclear is it tastes like nothing, so it hits you like a freight train when it catches up with you. Most people I knew who drank it mixed it with orange drink (like SunnyDelight or Tang), fruit punch, or cheap soda - which makes it taste like 4Loko.

Just found your channel; love your videos and think your reviews of the nasty drinks are super funny! As a sommelier, do you think someone who is naturally very sensitive (and averse) to bitter flavors and the taste of ethanol could ever come to appreciate hard liquors?

Hey! Love the content. So much that I'm going to make horrible drink suggestions for you to torture yourself further with. You're welcome! You should try Campari. If you've only read about it and never tasted it, you're, uh, in for a surprise. Also consider Chartreuse. Or you could just try drinking, like, a whole glass of Peychaud's bitters. I'm guessing the effect will be similar.

Those are components of cocktails. Like drinking Schweppes Bitter Lemon straight. Campari is often drunk mixed with soda water. Chartreuse is in green or yellow and is mixed with gin or whiskey. Peychaud's is a bitter that's mixed with brandy.

@@SidneyBroadshead Partial credit only. Campari is an aperitif. It's INTENTIONALLY bitter and can be drunk straight-- and is, in small quantities. Aperitifs are supposed to aid the digestion and they do indeed function in that capacity thanks to a weird function of the vagus nerve. Arguably the more you mix them the less well they do what they are designed for. As for Chartreuse-- that is a complicated subject. Chartreuse along with a lot of other herbal liqueurs from Europe predates cocktails as we understand them by several hundred years. Like many similar liqueurs I believe it was something a monastery produced as its signature product. It probably was primarily medicinal at its inception. It definitely did not originate as a cocktail ingredient and it is, in theory, designed to be drunk straight. Bitters are indeed mixers. That was a joke. Based on the fact that this channel is basically just a video catalogue of him torturing himself. And for the record I *prefer* to drink Bitter Lemon straight, so...

I'd like to see a review of a drink that is popular with US Navy submariners. It is called Nuke Waste and is served at the Horse and Cow bar and grill in Bremerton, WA and in Guam. They sell it here in Hawaii at the base exchange as well. It has a unique color and I think you may actually enjoy the taste. Check out the nuke waste dot com website.
