This multi-part tutorial series explores the in-depth details of the Leonardo MD-82 Maddog for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This is not a quick start guide. It is designed to dive deeper into the aircraft and its systems to provide you with a robust understanding of this unique jet. It should be obvious, but all of this information is for flight simulation purposes only.

I am not a real airline pilot, nor have I ever flown the real MD-82. All of my knowledge comes from reading manuals, talking to real pilots, other videos, and my own experience in the sim.

Love it ! Something new to learn. I’ve flown MD82/83/88 a lot, saw earlier version of FMS (if you call it like that) Never thought about learning. You’re the first person to cover this subject :) Thx for sharing!

Thanks for making these! Finally encouraged me to try out the Marconi and I just finished the first flight with it. Definitely more involved to use. Though im not *super* experienced with the maddog, it was still tremendously fun particularly the PMS unit. And when you get the hang of it its really not that intimidating really. It does a pretty decent job of getting you down to your first level off.

I put the BOD at the FAF alt and FAF distance but my plane descend very slowly and when i put flaps the perf just disconnects like its on V/S and i click on perf but it stays on V/S

What mode did the FMA day you were in? On the PMS, did you clear the BOD message and confirm the descent speed?

@@moosestaffa83 So I did all of your steps : It said DIST TO BOD? I cleared it just like in the video, then it said DESCENT NON OPT and the SEL/SPEED was flashing and I cliked on it just like in the vid too and then I put my alt to like 1700FT cuz that was the FAF alt and I clicked in it so it armed itself and on the FD it was written the armed alt . And then my plane DID descend but like at some time I had to put flaps and normally the plane has to slow down progressively to approach speed as I put the flaps but no it kept the 250KT speed limit cuz I was below 10000FT and then I put full flaps and it just disconnected itself and it wouldnt catch on. I'm really interested in the PMS and The md80 is probably my favorite aircraft. Feel free to tell me what thing I did wrong so I can fix the issue. Thanks for your response.
