If they were going to sell 1 million of them the price would be $199. But in reality they will sell a few thousand and the price has to cover everything that went into making it from start to finish. But when you compare that price to the price of a barrel or getting your receiver custom machined and barrel installed and the bolt worked over so its as smooth as glass $499 is pretty cheap.

@@akbuilder7626 You line of thought is exactly why they sell for $500, or a suppressor cost hundreds. 1st, if they sell 1 million, the price should be below $100, second let's use your comparison, a top notch barrel (SAAMI spec, made to order) is perhaps couple hundreds over, but you are paying for precision over barrels half the price, the bipod will not give me comparable precision, and just the blanks will cost the barrel manufacturer a pretty penny. So, I am willing, and have paid, the required price. BTW, I'm a MDT customer, I have 3 of their chassis, where I see the value, but in this case I'll use either a traditional bipod and/or my bags, and I'm still far from $500. If I was a pro, fighting for a PRS championship, perhaps, but I am just the average guy who already spend a lot of $$$ w/shooting, ask my wife, or maybe not :)

PR Shooting is getting ridiculous. 1300$ annealer, 1200$ scales & auto throws, 4k$ scopes, 500$ bipods, 1200$ tripods and levels, & 1200$ stocks & chassis, and whatever else I’m missing. Gun industry is full of vultures.

@@WestDesertShooter Because I like the Bipod in general it's just STUPID overpriced ! I do CNC work for a living and I have a very good idea of the cost of materials and machine time involved and let's just say even with profit involved you are getting screwed straight up. A Bipod when it comes down to it is a simple device in general correct? Any well made Bipod (Atlas OR Accu Tech) can and will do just as good of a job for far less plain and simple! So why purchase this overpriced Bipod as it is known to be the APPLE of Bipods and just so you know that IS NOT a good thing! How many military personal have used a $100 Harris Bipod to great affect may I ask? Spending this much on a Bipod is straight up STUPID! A sucker born every minute.. It's not the overpriced CRAP that makes the difference as it's the person behind the rifle that makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE! KZfaq gets more Stupid by the minute as I just can't take 95 percent of channels seriously with this garbage!
