Here I demo how I made the panel lines on the oddly-shaped nacelle parts and the landing gear area. Except for some details, she's almost ready to be painted!

Thanks, Fish. It seems to be a dying art form and has gotten so expensive, children are really out of the mix. It's still fun, though! Thanks for the comment. -Dan

Great, Paul. They aren't exciting, but you do get a good feel for how to stick one of these together. I appreciate the views and comments. Any questions just shout... -Dan

Could you use thick elastic bands as a guide for the panel lines.? Awesome job by the way.!! 👍 👍 👍

THAT is a smart idea! I've used elastic bands to mask off convex spinners for painting. I need to try that. Great idea. Thank you so much for the suggestion. This is just what these videos are for... -Dan

@@dansmith7617 No problem, I hope it works well for you.!! I love your models, you're obviously very skilled. I used to make a lot of military models when I was younger, especially WW2 & cold war war birds. There's just something about that era of aviation when they were making the transition from piston powered props to the jet age that's very intriguing to me.. I've moved on to radio controlled models now, mostly scale off road vehicles like Land Rover, Jeep, rock buggies etc, on road & a few aircraft. RC aircraft are incredibly easy to fly these days because of the autopilot that keeps the aircraft in a safe attitude & won't let you get into trouble. You can turn it off or set it so it allows aerobatics but won't let you lose control. They're also extremely durable, I've lawn darted mine a few times & because they're made from compressed foam they just bend straight back.! If you haven't tried an RC aircraft I can't recommend them highly enough, around £100 will get you a good fully aerobatic beginner plane.! (Wltoys XK A-160, it's a beautiful looking Piper Cub or the A-800 is a powered glider with an 800mm wingspan & the XK A-430 is an Extra 3D aerobatic plane.. It can even do a prop hang.! 😉) Please stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍

@@alantaylor353 Same to you, Alan. I've done lots of RC too and it's a blast as well. Mine have always been from wood and tissue etc. "old school" simply because that's how I learned. I wish I'd have had autopilot a few times! Off road stuff sounds fun too. I think I'll need to give that a go as well. All the articulating suspension is intriguing! Thanks for the comments and the views. Much appreciated and stay tuned! -Dan
