Ingredients:
- 1 cup poha (flattened rice)
- 250 ml water
- 2 pieces dried figs (anjeer)
- 1 small cardamom (elaichi)
- 150 ml milk
- 1 and a half tablespoons rock sugar (misri) or 2 pieces of rock sugar
- Ice cubes (optional for serving)
Method:
1. Soak Poha:
- Add 1 cup poha to 250 ml water in a saucepan.
2. Cook Figs and Cardamom:
- Place the saucepan on low to medium heat.
- Add 2 pieces of dried figs and 1 small cardamom to the poha.
3. Cook Until Soft:
- Cook until most of the water is absorbed and the figs become soft.
4. Add Milk:
- Add 150 ml milk to the mixture.
- Continue to cook until the mixture thickens.
5. Sweeten:
- Add 1 and a half tablespoons of rock sugar or 2 pieces of rock sugar to the mixture.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves.
6. Cool Down:
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down.
7. Blend:
- Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a grinder.
- Blend until smooth.
8. Serve:
- Pour the blended mixture into a bowl.
- Serve immediately. Add ice cubes if desired for a refreshing touch.
