Dave, a 47 year old Christian man, is on the other side of an unwanted divorce. Searching for answers and trying to make sense of the hurt in his life, he attends a divorce recovery group where he meets Carla. The two forge a friendship and find out they have one thing in common: both have been thinking about their lost first loves from high school. As the memory of that past relationship continues to surface in Dave's mind, his curiosity grows. Should he try and find his first love again?
This movie deals with many questions about relationships and addresses why God allows - or does not allow - certain things to happen.

After 30 years in a bad marriage, I reunited with MY first love who had been divorced for almost 20 years. We flew to Paris, France and exchanged our wedding vows atop the Eiffel Tower the day after my divorce was finalized, with no looking back. We've been married almost 21 years now, living happily ever after.

I reunited 20 years after our break up and then when I ran into medical crisis after an accident she caused , she changed and acted like I was a nuisance and I hardly heard from her to even ask how I was doing , and when she called she would be just silent and act like she was the victim since I could not have done the things with her that she had in mind before the accident happened. Her texts were about things that had nothing to do with what pain I was dealing with , so after telling her how I feel when her texts or calls convey a total lack of empathy , I stopped answering those texts . Very soon I stopped getting even those texts and it has been over a year I have heard from her . My first love turned out to be a total life destroyer for me . Here I’m at 57 now all alone , trying to recover from the serious health issues since the injury , that very few physicians deal with , and don’t have a clue other than creating more complications from the procedures they have subjected to me

This one hit home for me. I met my first love in 1980 I was 19 and she was 17. same thing we were just to young. I always thought of her. tracked her down in the mid late 90's talked for about 20 minutes then lost contact. In 2022 I ran across her name on face book and inquired about her. I was heart broken to find out she died in 2019, it was her daughter that I met and she was going through some hard times. I shared some story's and about a dozen photos I still kept. I adopted her in spirt as another daughter now I have three. She calls me crying now and than wanting to hear more about her mom. her mom Linda will always be in my heart.

A prayer of complete surrender using caps as emphasis to encourage the disheartened and help the heart of the weak to go on with SWEET JESUS AT THE WHEEL because our contract with survival is brokered with sadness, fragility and anxiety. On a balcony of space STEPPED A PURE AND HOLY GOD. IN AWESOME SOLITUDE YOU STOOD ALONE. Not one faint star to give YOU light; just endless darkness, it was blackest night. But somehow in the darkness YOU COULD SEE. YOU SAW mountains high and lofty, YOU SAW valleys lush and green. YOU SAW babbling brooks, and wildflowers grow, YOU EVEN HEARD a robin sing. Then through YOUR COMPASSION STANDING OUT THERE IN YOUR TOMORROW, YOU SAW forum's visitors, their families and friends. 🥰 YOU SAW them as sinners (missing the mark resulting in their weaknesses prevailing causing guilt of wrong doing) because there is no intrinsic righteousness in any of us due to Adam’s sin. YOU SAW them as they grew from a baby into adulthood due to YOUR HANDS OF MERCY. 🥰 YOU SAW them pursuing a career path for the purpose of obtaining the gains of the world not realizing that it is a loss compared to what YOU DID on the cross. YOU SAW them working long and laboring hard to receive the grace by justification even though YOU stated, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."(John 6:29 KJV) YOU SAW the unwillingness to accept YOUR PLAN OF SALVATION THROUGH YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST. YOU SAW them living with the guilt of committing crimes to the heart. YOU SAW them enduring personal crisis. YOU SAW the weight of the burden on their hearts with each tribulation. YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏👏👏 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow. If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. Indeed, ONLY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS SUFFICIENT TO SAVE us from this present evil world as evidenced by Mary's song of praise. "And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." (Luke 1:46-47 KJV) Awesome thanks to YOUR GREAT PARDON for being easy on the heart. 🥰 They have seen a lot of crazy things done in YOUR NAME. For example, the father of lies futile attempts to make crooked the right ways of the LORD to turn people away from faith in the WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST ALONE. How can anyone bear the thought of his or her life story detracting from the GLORY AND HONOR KNOWN TO BELONG TO CHRIST ALONE? As a consequence, YOU ARE A MYSTERY OF GREAT MYSTERY to them. Despite this conviction, YOU ARE MINDFUL of them as evidenced by the fact that YOUR JUDGEMENT is not speedy, allowing them to pursue the desires of the flesh. They are aware of hypocrisy in religious assemblies that like to be seen and heard. In addition, secular education teaches that there is no right and wrong, if GOD exists there is no way of relating to HIM, and moral standards shift according to the whims of fashion. Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seek to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take. Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES. LORD GUIDE their thoughts to know that the path of sin is hard on their hearts for the purpose of crying out to YOU to know the joy, peace of having the heavy burden LIFTED by THE GOD OF PEACE I AM, and ANCHOR their souls in THE HAVEN OF REST. In other words, LORD use the storms in their lives to get a hold of them to trust YOU and believe. In truth, YOU ARE THE JOY that seekest them through pain. LORD HELP their fainting hearts to believe that YOU, who was slain on the cross over 2000 years ago has the POWER TO CHANGE lives today through the INSTANTANEOUS GREAT FAVOR from GOD to the house of Israel made known in believers by YOU to make YOUR NAME EVERLASTING. 🥰 For as the statue liberates the citizens so the cross liberates the soul. ONLY YOU can calm the trouble waters of the mind when one admits to wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, JESUS IS LORD, and believes in the heart that GOD RAISED HIM from the dead TO LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt away from the heart in accordance to YOUR WORD found in Psalm 51:1-10 KJV. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 O, the wonder of it all to experience within the flesh the feeling of a tree being cut back/pruned in order for it to grow stronger and more beautiful after meditating on the words of said Psalm. 🥰🙌 LORD MAKE them know that ONLY YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, through the experience of a new birth within believers, can prevent the family circle from being broken because THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE YOU HAVE GRANTED means a chapter of their lives is decided. Creation sings the rebirth song for them yearly, through YOUR PROMISE of springtime, giving rise to the idea that by the mention of YOUR NAME flowers grow, and the desert blooms again. 🥰 LORD GUIDE their understanding of words to use to come into YOUR PRESENCE with an honest reverence of WHO YOU ARE to experience the beauty that time can't erase YOUR WISDOM resting on their faces. LORD STRENGTHEN their determination to never waiver in efforts to search for YOU because the wages of sin is too high for anyone to pay. Additionally, THE KING OF KINGS is needed in their hearts to learn how to expand their capacity to love for YOU are LOVE in any language. 🥰 Once they learn to speak it with boldness through YOUR WONDERFUL COUNSELING all the world will hear, and know that LOVE is the language of their hearts. So LORD, KEEP KNOCKING on their door until they let YOU in to know hardships and struggles will end with a GREAT CELEBRATION WITH YOU. 🥰🙌 If one believes faith cannot be forced, YOU WILL GIVE that individual over to the stubborn heart to follow own counsel which will surely fail him or her to the extent that the punishment will last forever found in Psalms 81 NIV. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee. Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh. O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE because YOUR LOVE ALONE CONQUERS everything by WAITING for them to cease struggling, and finally surrender to YOUR EMBRACE to learn about YOUR LOVE AND PROMISE TO TAKE CARE of your children exquisitely. 🥰 Since... "at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore"... (Psalms 16:11 KJV), and the nail print for them to know YOU by answering the following question. How did CHRIST LOVE people into a relationship with HIM? 🥰

This was another good movie by David Christiano. He has a way of creating inspirational movies that feel and look natural. I have been married for 28 years and my ex came looking for me. We grew up as childhood friends who became more than that, and most thought we would be together, but it wasn’t God’s plan. He blessed me with a good, loving husband and two beautiful daughters. Like Mary, I haven’t given that guy a second thought other than remembering our friendship. People need to remember that the one that got away, got away for a reason.

Many times movies often portray divorce as if one person “fell out of love” or found someone else & cheated or got bored with the other-and then divorced for selfish reasons. But as Believers, we don’t fight “flesh & blood” but our struggles are in the spiritual realm-and sometimes things have been set up against us in that arena, even years before we were born. I know now, that my father (and ex) had & still has an evil spirit-a controlling “spirit of Jezebel”(because in the demonic, there’s no “sex”) and I was set up from early childhood & trained to-live in constant fear, be a people-pleaser & always feel like it was my job to make him & all people happy-at my expense. My father “trained” me in control, insecurity & zero self -esteem or expectation when it came to love. What a lot of people don’t understand is that when your brain is “trained” from a young age in this type of upside-down chaotic world of abuse-it just feels “normal.” And just like the girl of an alcoholic who grows up and marries an alcoholic-I ended up in a controlling, abusive relationship-because that’s what felt “right” and normal for me. I got a divorce after 17 years of trying desperately to love and please someone who, claimed to be a Christian (and could really put on a show) but only lived to manipulate, dominate and control-it made him feel powerful & that was all he lived for….just like my father. So sometimes Christians get divorced because it’s the right thing to do. It’s necessary for their own well being & that of their children. God does not expect any of us to remain with evil, unrepentant, controlling dictators who actually enjoy & live just to hurt us. In my situation it was the right thing to do. And after my divorce, I did meet the “love of my life”….between the tear-stained pages of a love letter written to me a long time ago…in God’s beautiful Holy Word. I thought I knew what it was to be a Christian, and followed lots of rules & tried hard to be a good girl for a God, I thought was just another fearful dictator -that I could never please -just like my earthly father & ex. It wasn’t until after my divorce that I really began to dig in the Word for myself & found out what Abba God & my Lord & Saviour Yahusha HaMassiach (Jesus Christ) were really like… ♥️ And I pray if there’s anyone reading this, that they also might come to- “Know Him & the power of His resurrection & the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed in Him, even unto death.” (Phil 3:10) He’s REAL. And He’ll be the father, family and bestest friend you never had! I love Him so!! ♥️

In the past I had a lot of dreams about my teenage crush and I played the "what if" game with myself for years. But I am very grateful that those scenarios or people, ever came to fruition. I am married to a godly man who loves me very much. And I love him, just as deeply. That's answered prayers. God always knows best. Everything seems like it was better once we've thrown it away. I had a great guy. I was his first love. We have a 25 yr son between us. He never re-married, yet recently got engaged. I had re-married and my 2nd ex divorced me due to physical illnesses. We wrote our own vows, so he "sinned by omission." No "for in sickness and in health." I am chronically ill and terminally albeit too slowly. Ive been alone paying off child support ever since he got full custody and I got disability and child support to pay. I wouldn't dream of burdening anyone with my issues/illnesses. My kids don't even like hearing about it. When he divorced me, he said I'd die alone. I'm sure I will but I believe it will be straight in Jesus' arms as He is my Bridegroom. I've thought about "the one I let go" but even Scripture says that once divorced, it is not right to return to the last husband. God doesn't want us to go back. Sadly, we live in regret. I live in "reaping the pain I sowed by myself." I look forward to going home to be with the Lord. I keep repenting over and over. The other movie they made about demons is that their 2nd effect on us is to make us think we "went too far, or God is punishing us for past mistakes, choices, etc. Yes, that is my cross. But that movie helped me see the truth. My soul belongs to Jesus and Him alone. God's forgiveness is the best thing, yet ppl aren't as forgiving as God is and this is a cruel world. Jesus understands since He lived in it. To be content, some of us must lower expectations and that's ok. In this world, they are consequences, and some stay with us till we die here and some decisions literally send us home to Him. I'm not afraid to die, it is living that is hard. I've lived a hard life from birth through now. I only blame myself now. Many comments speak of "happy endings." Not everybody gets that not on earth at least. Maybe I have to suffer more things as I made more bad choices than most. The Bible says "no one is good, no..not one." "And the heart is deceitfully wicked above all things." NEVER trust "your heart" or "feelings" because if it goes against the Word of God, then it is sin. Sooner or later, we all reap what we sow, be it good or bad. (Not karma) but consequences. I wish I had known this when I was 20 yrs old. Now I'm almost 53, alone, chronically sick, and dying and yet I can only hope to warn others that God does give grace (undeserved gift) yet His justice permits/demands justice as well. God says in His Word "Do good in the days of your youth, before the evil days come." (Old, disability, loss of family, no money, no strength to work, no ability to do the things you could before, esp things to share the gospel. Please, if you are young, take heed, stand firm in Him, lest you fall. The fear of God ....is EVERYTHING. God bless these brothers for these films. :)

Penelope Lambson, I was thinking along those same lines. It's one thing to be in a place; and out of the blue you turn around and you bump into your old high school sweetheart, but to plan out a one sided reunion was something that he should have not done. In a way he kind of dumped her for a second in her life. It was all about him, and what he was going through. He didn't even ask if she was still married or if she was divorced, or a widow. Like you said, there was more to the story I mean why show her hand for we the viewer to see that there was no wedding ring on her finger. Some things in life should not be revisited.

I have had full understanding for Dave. and Mary. Both of them where no Christian when they had their first dating. Later one Dave was in the believe, that his wife is a Christian. But she deceived him with so many other men. To the contrary Mary had Bryan lost for only ONE women. Dave and Mary did wait for the Lord until they went into a stable relationship. Dave apologized twice to his first girl in New York. If you are looking again the scene, where they speak together, that she has no interest anymore in him.

Spot on. The main character was selfish and had no regard for anybody else. To catch a plane and then stalk your ex girlfriend after 30 years says it all. Oh and he is only there due to his divorce, nothing else. It's all about his pain and his happiness. Shameful.

Great movie with lots of lessons to learn here. For me, it's not so much about the first love thing. Mary didn't mean much to him then. If she did, he wont' have treated her the way he did and never showed any remorse till 30 years afterward. The truth about Dave is that for the first time he actually understood how Mary had felt when he dumped her, now that his own wife dumped him for another man. The royal law says, do unto others what you'll have them do unto you. Some hurts we cause people may mean nothing to us then but later hunt us all our lives and we may not have the chance to apologize like Dave did and go to our graves feeling sorry for hurting our loved ones. Secondly, I like the fact that Mary had truly moved on.She couldn't even remember somethings he mentioned. That's how to shake off our past and move on whether those who hurt us are sorry or not.I know it's not easy sometimes. But we should try our best not to allow anyone make us go through life limping. We are entitled to our joy and happiness and peace and let's not allow anyone steal it.

Yes, and yet not one religious person in this video actually had true, undeniable facts or answers of how God works, the answers they get, good or bad, if they are really part of Gods plan or not. Instead of just getting on with your life, religion teaches you to keep on praying and begging, but no matter what happens, IT IS ALL A GUESS AS TO GODS INTERVENTION OR NOT, AND IF YOUR NOT SURE, THEN STILL ASSUME THAT GOD IS SENDING YOU A GRAND MESSAGE BY NOT ANSWERING YOU, SO YOU CAN STILL GUESS AT WHAT THE END RESULTS ARE. THAT IS WHAT A CHRISTIAN CALLS FAITH. Faith is wanting and believing something so bad, that you live your life for something that has not been proven by anyone, and has no references from that what you believe, is actually not a reality at all, but a dream of what you want. Instead of begging God for things, just use your talents and abilities and brain God gave you and go achieve them yourself. By the time your life is established, God will still be deciding if it is what he wants for you, but you already made it a reality.

After my marriage broke up, I reconnected with an old high school love. We chatted by text message for a month or two - I think I really needed it to heal the wound that was left when that relationship ended. That wound had cast a shadow I didn't realize was still there, until about the time he began to move on to a new relationship. At the same time, a boy I had never dated in high school, but was interested in, reached out to me by email to see how I was doing and to confess that he had wanted to date me in school, but was hesitant to do anything about it. We built on our somewhat distant friendship (because we had lived in the same neighborhood since 3rd and 4th grade) and discovered that we were meant for each other. Sometimes I wonder why we didn't get to this place when we were in high school, but I also realize that I am so thankful that this happiness was waiting to grace the end of my life. It is so much better to end happily than to have and lose that happiness earlier on, only to agonize over what went wrong for the rest of my life.

The man didn't hear anyone's advice, but juts followed his instincts when the situation that he was going through is the proof of his self judgment. I have more empathy and admiration for the high school lady, she was more of a God fearing than the man...he broke her heart and have the nerve to chase her and hopping that she will go alone with whatever was driving him. And he is doing this because he was divorce other wise, probably would have never done it. And have the nerve to speak about Christ to Mary? Pathetic character of a man. This is one of Christiano's best. The lessons are so subtle, and we need them. It can be compared to a parable where only he who has eyes to see will see, and understand. It speaks on a group level, 'for' all who view it, and on an individual level 'to' all who view it. To me there was a time when it seemed plodding but this was one of the secrets it contained being revealed. The message herein is timeless for all men and all women who want to be adults in God's eyes. I can only hope we get it.

@jurgendold6097 Жыл бұрын
@@desertodavid Couldn't it be that what Dave did with his visit also healed an old wound in Mary's heart? If we leave the "selfish perspective" of Dave's behavior a little bit, we could also see it as his sincere apology, showing Mary that her feelings from back then towards Dave really meant something to him, but that he only realized this after he converted to Jesus and later divorced innocently himself. This can also positively change Mary's marriage, exchanging, for example, the lie "True love always ends in unhappiness" for "My pure first love was not hidden from God's grace and justice." Because there is a difference between someone simply coming to terms with the past in an accepting way and getting a real liberating answer to an important question, even if it happened a long time ago.

Oh Wow! Just the movie i needed to see and to think it was a true story. Was it a coincident that I picked this movie to watch or God telling me something? I am a single mum with 3 adult children. We were married for 23 years and then I got divorced not by choice but my husband married someone 20 years his junior. My 3 children live with me. Well my husband was my first love and it destroyed me that this happened to me. i am still struggling with those feelings. I have asked God so many times why this happened to me but can't figure it out. I tried dating but the mess that I was in, they didn't work out and left me frustrated. Watching this movie, I realised that I can never go back to that old place and i need to accept that. I need to forgive him( because i get angry with him) and accept that this happened to me and that God has His own plans for me. Now i walk with Jesus guiding me everyday and am learning to accept His Will for my life. Thank you for uploading this movie.

Thank you for sharing this movie, and thank you to all who made it. I liked it when the gal said she was still hurting, not that I was happy, but because I feel the same. Also, I would not go back to my husband, I have grown too much, I am a different person with new dreams. He remarried right away, I thought that was odd. So, in the deepest part of my grief the Lord was there to see me througn. Everything that I feared the most did not come to fruition. The Lord protected me.

Dave is too fixated on the past. It is never appropriate to say, let me visit my ex girlfriend who is now married and spend time alone with her. That part made the movie seriously sag. I do appreciate divorce care which is something I HIGHLY recommend for anyone going through a divorce. Very helpful in navigating such a trying, depressing, and tumultuous time. I do get Dave's need to get back to a happier time but his actions were inappropriate.

As you have awaked in the high knowledge of the existence then you know that all are temporary.. So you are satisfied with the experience to grow living with love.. The past belongs to the past, and the present belongs to every now. This is the true life..it's a westing time to go back in time, searching for a dream you had. .if God wants to be with this person, he will make the synchronicity to meet each other.. Absolutely true.. Keep in mind brothers and sisters Blessings to all 🙏 😇

First of all the Christ would not have liked being called lord…..which means “to lord over”. …He’s real name wasn’t Jesus, look it up ….secondly, stop using your invisible “lord” to justify every shortcoming, event, and uncomfortable emotion in your life……..a fairy tale male god and a fictitious Jesus will not solve your problems, of which you need to work on yourself….

Divorce is a traumatic disruptive thing, at least it was for me. Totally unexpected. But God has done amazing things in my life since then. I have discovered who I am and have studied at uni when before, I never thought I would be able to do that. It has given me a whole new way of being in this world, and I have found a freedom I never knew was possible. But then, I was in a very controlling relationship. Sometimes you dont know what you have been in until you find yourself out of it. Looking back, as traumatic as divorce has been, I am a much stronger person.

A really well made movie with good sound, acting and screenplay. It is riveting, as one becomes curious to know what would happen next and how the meeting with Mary would go. Further, the presentation invites the viewer to draw their own conclusions, which is very generous of them.

Dave was selfish in going back in time. He hurt his first love more than ever bringing up old wounds hoping he could get her back. Giving it a sugar coating of God is just plain wrong. It's tempting to look back at a better time in memory when life is full of crap, but to touch those memories is dangerous.

Amen!! Its hard not too worry, but God says in His word fear not; and be not dismayed. Their will be tribulations but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. Ask and it shall be given too you, seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened. Instead of worrying pray and take everything to God. God sees, knows and understands all that we are going through. God listens and hears. When we worry that means we don't trust God and what God is capable of doing. This message is definitely for me and definitely at the right time for others.🙏💜❤
