This is something I need to hear. My husband is very spontaneous so it’s impossible to plan dinners. I can plan to cook and get all the things and then life happens and no one is home for days at a time. I hate to see it all go to waste and then the next w ek I have nothing and everyone is asking what’s for dinner! Ugh. I don’t know what freezes until you do a video and I’m like oh wow! Love it!

My mom struggles to separate her pancakes after they are frozen. I cut waxed paper squares to put between them and she has no problems anymore. Works great between meats too like hamburger patties. Inexpensive too

Or parchment paper if you already have that....plus you can buy specialized paper from restaurant and butcher supply. Only used once when a friend found some marked down at a supplier...all work fine.

I place my pancakes flat on a sheet pan in the freezer, then once they're frozen, I ziploc them in stacks of two. I normally fit a dozen in a gallon ziploc bag.

Hey Kimmy-I use a bunt pan when cutting corn off the cob. Place the ear on the tube portion and the kernels fall into the cake portion of the pan.

For the last couple of weeks after I cook dinner I leave 1 portion in the fridge for hubby's lunch the next day and take any other leftovers and put them right in the freezer for an easy meal later. Today I spent some time adding 20 meal kits to the freezer for fast dinner ideas when my brain does not want to tell me what to make for dinner. I am tired but I will be very happy this is done later.

My mother-in - law would make egg salad beginning of the week . Then tuna salad, then at the end of the week she mixed the two up . I thought it sounded yuk but my husband and sister-in-law loved it.

I have discovered that rotisserie chicken from the deli/bakery of my grocery store is about the same as a whole uncooked chicken. Especially when factoring in the cost of using my oven to cook it myself. They freeze well,and I have a seasoned chicken anytime I need it.

When making any sort of casserole with pasta, I stopped cooking the noodles. I no longer cook shells or mostaccioli or manicotti. If I didn’t make the dish that morning then I just have a little bit of water to the sauce and cover it

I utilize leftovers on a daily basis, depending on what we had the night before it gets incorporated into either breakfast or lunch the next day. If I still have some leftovers I pop them into the freezer for whoever gets to them first. They don't last long in my house.

I have alot of eggs but my 1 daughter won't eat brown eggs! She thinks it's gross! I told her those store eggs are the same. Although our chickens have a great diet tho! She likes the white eggs! Our chicken eggs are alot richer than the common white eggs. I'm sure you know this! Anyway I wanted to tell you about how much easier in the instantpot pasta is. I honestly haven't made pasta on the stove in 2 years! So easy!

We use leftover buns as garlic bread with pasta. We mush them flat, toast them in the toaster, spread butter, and sprinkle garlic powder.

Cook up bulk Italian sausage and freeze like you do with your hamburger. I freeze in 1/2 pound portions. Add to a jar of store-bought pasta sauce to give it a home-made taste. These were some great ideas. Now I just need a "grab 'n go" spot in my freezer. P.S. Store bought grated cheese freezes great. Thaw in the refrigerator.

You can also buy ready made lasagna noodles. They’re not as long as the regular noodles. I’ve never had an issue with those. Ronzoni makes them and maybe barilla. Congrats and good luck lol

Frozen & tinned veggies are great, especially for people who live alone. My Dad used to buy frozen broccoli & cauliflower & put them into bags that are suitable for one person. Just curious, do your meals also go in the microwave? I don’t buy anything unless it can go in the microwave. I’ve always been the fussy eater in my family & even as an adult there’s loads of food that I won’t eat.

Great ideas! I stock my pantry with items we use. Tonight my husband said he wanted brownies. He NEVER wants brownies. So glad to have ingredients in the pantry and the Dining on a Dime Cookbook. Brownies for dessert. Thank you for all your videos. I can't wait for your cookbook to come out!

They're turning green because they're being exposed to too much light. Eating green potatoes is not good for you.

I have frozen blocks of cheese per your videos. Swiss is fine, but Colby or cheddar seem to always crumble. Is there a way for them to not crumble?

Maybe pre shred it before putting it in the freezer. Like if you bought a bag at store or preshredded you’d just put that in freezer. I buy preshredded and have no issue when I defrost
