I didn't like John Wayne at all when I first heard it so I get it, but it really did grow on me after going through the whole album another time. It's definitly weird and kinda off. But overall what a fucking insanly good album, best thing he's done. There's gonna need to be some insane shit later in the year for this to not be in at least my top 2-3.
