This just further validates my concern with what was given by Dr. Carson and also proves the deity of the promised Messiah as God manifest in the flesh through the Davidic line (Rom 1:3) Have you ever fully studied Psalm 110, in the light of all scripture? Especially with the light given us by God in Hebrews chapter 1. Goodness this is an exciting revelation including 2 Samuel 7:13-14. Just incredible!!!!! +Barbara Sinclair I believe 2Sam. 7:12-14 *is* about Solomon initially but the words find their ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ the Messiah. And I think Dr. D.A. Carson would agree with me on that. From memory (I watched this several months ago) he affirms that 2Sam. 7:14 is applied to Jesus in Hebrews 1:5? Note that the son of David's sins are basically promised to be forgiven (in advance) by God in 2Sam. 7:14 and Solomon *did* rebuild the temple (v.13). I think this makes it clear it was originally about Solomon but there is a double fulfillment in Christ. Christ is the One who establishes the eternal kingdom, yes. And He is the descendent (or son) of both David and Solomon.

Jesus was never declared in the bible as God the Son, BUT Son of God, He was never declared as God but Man. Read Hebrews chapter 7, This is about Jesus and Melchisedek. Hebrews 7:14 says, For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. He sprang out of Juda, which means that He was born in Juda, God can never be born because God is eternal! Hebrews 7:24 says, But this MAN, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. He was declared as MAN and NOT GOD by the writer of Hebrews, probably saint Paul...
