Good evening sir. Sir I have 3 questions, can you please answer me. Q1. Why scba is required near boiler during aux.boiler & E.G.B cleaning process? Q2. Duty engineer action- when there is a 440V low insulation alarm comes out. Q3. How lifeboat starts(starting mechanism)? Please sir it's important, I searched but didn't get the exact answer, I believe that I'll get it through you. Thankyou sir

1. Some company regard boiler and EGB are enclosed spaces. As per enclosed spaces entry procedure, standby SCBA for emergency use. 2. When 440V low insulation comes out, if you doubt inform senior engineers as first. Mostly 440V low insulation comes from galley cooking appliances. If cook or mess-boy spills water over hot plates (or) bottom of pans touch quick straight heater rods, 440V low insulation alarm activates. (Most Happening) This can be confirmed by switch off breaker for galley equipments in 440V Feeder panel. If alarm is not from galley, separate two parts. Main Switchboard or Emergency Switchboard. If alarm activates on emergency switchboard, trace all feeder from emergency switchboard. If not from emergency switchboard, need to trace one by one from main switchboard, 440V feeder. 3. Your question doesn’t clear for me. Please clarify, again. Thanks.

SCBA keeps standby as per enclosed space entry permit. This task to be done for entering any onboard enclosed spaces. In here, depends upon company, declaration of enclosed spaces may little different. Have a good day and safe !!!
