note: no sound from 2:14 - 3:26. In 1992, a team backed by The Royal Canadian Geographical Society became the first to measure the height of Mount Logan, Canada’s highest peak, using a GPS instrument.
I was hired to shoot the cover story for Canadian Geographic magazine, and the mountain footage for this TV Ontario program. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the mountain with mountain guide friends Karl Nagy, Sue Gould, Roger Laurilla and the scientists tasked with the elevation measurements using a primitive (by 1992 standards) GPS system that we hauled to the top of Canada.
