The absolute most damage you can do to a video is to not engage with it whatsoever. You don't watch it, you don't like or dislike the video, you don't make a comment, you don't like any other comments. That's no engagement. So it's the worst damage you can do to a video. If you have already watched it, well you can limit your engagement by just doing nothing else, leave the page, don't click anything cos anything you click or comment on that video is engagement and so it helps them, doesn't matter if your comment is negative and gets 1000 likes. That's 1000 little portions of help and engagement you're giving to that channel. But people don't seem to understand this and so they mass dislike certain videos thinking "haha that'll show them". It's MUCH much easier to get mass dislikes on a video than it is to get the same amount of likes on that video. That's what makes channels like Logan Paul and Jake Paul are so huge. They deliberately be annoying and controversial dickheads, because that way they get all the fools thinking "haha I hate these guys, I'm gonna dislike the video and leave a negative comment". Everyone falls for it, every time. The Paul brothers know exactly what they're doing. Logan Paul's suicide forest video quite literally boosted his channels popularity and earned him a few million dollars in a matter of weeks, that's not an exaggeration. And so because dislikes are the exact same thing as likes, on a video, that gets their videos recommended to millions of people who wouldn't otherwise have ever seen it, and so they get millions of views. And millions of dollars too, real cash from the ads. It all counts. Side note: dislikes on _comments_ actually do nothing at all. Seriously. It's purely an aesthetic thing. Dislikes on comments aren't even counted. They don't reduce the amount of likes on a comment. They don't do anything at all. So it's entirely pointless to ever dislike a comment. All that happens is you see the thumbs down symbol fill in completely. Only you can see that. But yeah dislikes on _videos_ is one of the absolute best things you can do to help that channel out, get the video recommended to more people, and so earn the content creator more and more money from ads.

I was laughing because of how spot on papa meat over here grasped the situation. It's so accurate. This man once had a wonderful life and is now slowly rotting his relationships, himself, and everything around him. Everything was spot on. The foot stomping every time he took a step. The tantrums over the smallest of things. How he pretends everything is fine and everyone is just against him. In the end. It's dark humor. You have to laugh at just how ridiculous this situation is. I had to do the same thing with my addiction about 5 years ago. You are the only one who can help yourself, and you need to be ready to change. The beginning is the hardest part, cutting ties and bad things out of your life, changing your brain chemistry, and basically changing your life. It feels so much better afterwards though.

Yeah, I truly appreciate how Canyon went out of his way to humanize Nikocado here, not just because it's good to remember that we're all human but also because it's very likely that deep inside of him, he understands that what he says isn't true but is exactly what he *should* say in order to keep bringing in those clicks. It's all part of the plan to him, and showing what likely happens after the camera stops rolling, combined with the story of what will likely happen if he keeps continuing down this path, makes this piece of commentary a lot more personal towards Nick, and hopefully more effective as a result.

He admitted at one point that everything he does on camera was all an act occasionally. The stuff like orlin and him fighting and whatnot. I'm not exactly sure what real or not aside with that knowledge, but clearly his persona tht he's sadly adapted to for views.
