--
With 30 years of automotive industry experience, our founder Dwayne Saunders recognized the need for providing auto repair through a different lens. After a brief trial-and-error business model, he opened Genuine Automotive & Diesel in Austin, Texas, in 2019. The concept of superior auto services and repairs and real customer care makes perfect sense to us, but it was so novel to our local clientele that customers voted to include “genuine” in the shop’s name. You’ll find us convenient to multiple major roads (between I-35, the MoPac Expressway, and Wells Branch and Scofield Ridge Parkways) at 13806 Turbine Drive Austin, TX 78728. We welcome walk-ins Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. To ensure quick access to a service/repair appointment, you can reserve your time using our online scheduler or by calling us at (512) 866-0212.

My old man had a 70s snap on box. While he was alive I was only allowed to touch it if I asked him and he would come unlock it. After he passed and I went through it there were sealed bags with sockets, a lot of them. From 1/4 to 1/2 . Never opened. I found a receipt from the truck and he had to pay 7.89 a week. In 78 he was at Firestone and made 750 salary plus commission. We lived very well.

Ummm... In today's auto mechanical world... Yes tf you do. The amount of times I've thanked my stars for having been handed down tools. Half the time without an 18" extension, a universal joint attached to that and a specialized deep impact socket I can't get the job done on these newer cars. Sometimes we have to put cars on lifts to get the oil filter out because we can't get to them in the dugout. The war between mechanics and engineers is at its worse😂😂

The black and yellow Lexivon torque wrenches are like $30-90 (ranging) a piece. Sockets DO get expensive if you buy all snap-on/matco/Mac but maybe like $4-6000? Pliers drawer: maybe $4,000 Autel key programmer full diag tablet maybe like $7,000? I'm assuming he's got impacts, ratchets, etc.. Without seeing those , I guess $4,000 Without seeing additional boxes/tools I'm going to give a $25,000 value.

Another disclaimer i traded my old box in for a epiq series scratch and dent retail was 18,500 got it for 8,500 still a lot of money but this is the only box I'm going to own. If i need more storage i will just add onto it. If you like your box and it works for you that's good cause that's all that matters and I'm happy for you. Did i make a stupid decision at my very young age? Maybe a little, regardless I'm Still gonna own it like a man.
