Hey there. I was thinking maybe I’d apply for the fire service when the application process opens. At the moment I know it’s open for the north of England I think. I’ve don’t some practice question on their site and just wondered if you could answer a question I have. There’s 3 tests I believe, numerical/verbal and mechanical. It says you need 80% to pass. Now is that for each test or 80% for all 3? Many thanks.

I feel like thus would be more helpful if you would just put the answers and explanations in the drop down box for the video. I’ve been going through the comments trying to check my answers and not everybody has even answered all of them. So I’m not getting explanations of why or even all of the answers. I know I could answer with my own answers but since I have an interview tomorrow, and was only given 1 day to prepare, I don’t have time to wait for you to respond. However, when you do give explanations you do a really good job of making it understandable, so I am learning a lot from your videos. So thank you 😊

Q2 is just a vision trick. If there was a way for the water to be routed then G would fill up first then F but they are blocked off so B has to fill up first.

how do we find the answers to these questions? searching the comments i seen a lot of wrong answers with some right answers. and with over 2k comments its kinda hard to find

For Q2 I don’t understand how B is the answer. The water would drain out of B and fill G. From this diagram G would fill and overflow and no other buckets would fill. Can someone explain how it’s B?

Hey Richard can you pls explain question 12? I think its fairly straight forward or common logic and sense that the answer would be "D" due to surface space and a flat bottom making it much harder to push this weighted shape onto its side... But, it would be beneficial to still have the explanation when it comes to this type of question incase similar ones of same principal come up but are not exact to your examples! Id also love an explanation for Q13 D. Its common logic that if the wheels or points of the record were unattached to eachother as a single unit, then B would have the most revolutions. Since the record IS indeed all one unit, each point of the record will evolve the same. Similar to if it were wheels on a drive shaft! Same amount of revolutions or rotations plus same direction of turn/spin! Always appreciate the general understanding to questions and understanding the fundamentals of how to solve. Its nice to revirw in reverse. I.e., if Q13 was asked in this way instead, or if solving for X vs. Y, etc so we can solve all variations of any form the question is asked in.

Its a shame there's not the answers in the video, I just wanted to check out a few mock test answers before I do the test, instead of waiting a day to see what ones I got right. Why is the answer to question 2 "B"? I guessed "G" for that one because it seems like water would spill out of "A" and "B" into "G" (without anywhere to spill out to in "G"), and therefore fill up "G" faster.

Question 13......in the comments he kept saying well done, but it seems that many either put B or D. So he didnt correctly identify the answer to that one. The answer is D though, the inner side of the record isn't going to spin any faster than the outside.

Please can you explain how question 9 is A. The bolt tightens to the right which means the nut has to go left to tighten. Surely it should be B

Number 2 is B since the containers will be filling up which means A can not feel up first since it pours into containers C and D on the other side and B. Container G,F and E will not have a single drop since taps are closed. Qtn 6 is B Qtn 4 is A since the force forward will push the content to also go forward. Qtn 8 is A since its the one that has the most weight which requires it to be first on ground. Qtn 9 i feel is A and i don't know why and asking you? Qtn 11 is 50 since the distance from the pivot is twice the distance of the weight from the pivot.... Qtn 12 is Z since the area of the its base is wide hence requires much force to be pushed in the ground unlike W which will smoothly go into the ground....SEE HOW OFF TOPIC I AM! correct me please Qtn 13 is B since it has the smallest radius there by making it rotate more times then the other two

In reality these are crack decision choices. There could be many factors that could change the answer in many cases. That's what stumped me the most. Time never stands still in this moment in space time. I believe it may have before, but that's besides the point(s). I suppose there's always conditions, even with a well planned and executed trap, that may arise to keep above water......at the least. Some times you just have to put a little bit of soul into the effort! I think the instructor could see eye to eye with me on this matter, After all it is only natural that a body floats if it is stilled.
