In this video, I demonstrate 5 useful mechanisms in LEGO. These ones are more centered on assembly-line mechanisms (for an upcoming video), but I hope it can be used in other applications as well. As this is Mechanical Principles 10, I most likely will pause this series for a while. Do not worry though, I still plan to demonstrate interesting mechanisms in the future.
Turn on subtitles for more explanations about the mechanisms.

The Double Worm Gear Mechanism was inspired by the following video:

I apologize for the spelling error in the last mechanism, it should be spelled "forth" not "fourth"

I love these videos. Sometimes I think univerities and schools should honestly use LEGO to teach engineering and physics. Like for projects, all the measurents are perfect so students can just focus on desigining and building. keep at it man. :)

If you're listening closely, the firs mechanism has actually a secondary function, and a very interessing one, it plays the theme of Mission: Impossible

I feel like the double worm gear should be used in like some complex gearbox, just for shifting gears. Idk how it would look/work, but it seems that would be the way to go. Great video...as always!

I plan to use most of the mechanisms from mechanical principles 9 and 10 in a factory-style GBC, combining them into one assembly line GBC module. I would also like to include pneumatic elements in this GBC, but keeping it 1 ball/second will be a challenge.

Hi guys ! I'm a huge fan of Satisfactory game and I wonder if it's possible to build some automatic setup with this kind of Lego ? All this mechanical builds mezmerize so I would like to know if it's possible to use this mechanical principles to build a "factory" with a kind of loop : some bricks in input, then assembled together through X levels then disassembled at the output to be reinjected as input... Someone can help me maybe ? Thank you in advance :)
@redshoebox
@redshoebox Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about LEGO factories that move bricks around, but here are 2 really great GBC factory style builds: Akiyuki's Factory: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pb-YdK6ptNLKiIU.html Quanix's Pneumatic Factory: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nK5ygc2qrtW0qI0.html

@@redshoebox Hey thank you for your quick answer :D The Quanix's one is really impressive wow...close to a "Satisfactory-like" build ! I think to a factory like this : Lego parts as input => assembly lines => assembled things as output => mechanism that "break" the assembled things into separated Lego parts again => repeat. Theses videos are really satisfying ^^
@redshoebox

Interesting idea, I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a self-recycling LEGO factory, that would be a really cool idea! It definitely would be possible to build, but I think the most challenging part would be sorting out the disassembled product back into the factory so it could be used again.
@gonzo_
@gonzo_ Жыл бұрын
@@redshoebox Yeah maybe with "holes" at the exact size and pattern for each part, like coins sorters that just mix all coins but let pass trough rights holes the right coins.

Maybe in a while. I plan to work on a factory/assembly line GBC module that involves the many mechanisms from these past 10 mechanical principle videos. I will probably spend more time on that then new mechanical principle videos for a while, but I still plan to continue this series (as of now).
