Here I'm in the Music Techknowledgy Lab experimenting with a magnet tacked to a motor, placed in front of a Hall sensor. I'm using a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) motor driver to control motor speed, although I need to get it running slower with gears to make this circuit work more effectively.

A hall sensor … it measures the rotating magnet attached the the motor. That’s then used to control the level of the guitar.
