Together with the High End production house "The Marmalade" we built our own real life optical illusion using forced perspective and different layers of time. And, we are going to take you through the production from concept to post.
Also, we show you how you can use motion control with relative affordable gear in your projects… for example to create surprisingly realistic miniatures with the help of programable sliders.

Wow! This episodes screams quality, packed with rich information about how professionals work, and how we can achieve them. I can't believe you don't have 5 million subscribers already, this is just insane! And I would imagine the recent jibone from elderkrone would also be a useful tool, having able to control up and down motion of the camera, creating an even richer image. But I just want to say a massive thank you to people like you who puts out free content as epic as this, hopefully your channel will be exploding in popularity soon!

Do you really want him to have five million subscribers though? Look at the super 'popular' channels, they're loaded with low effort rubbish and barely concealed product placement in an effort to make as much money as possible and get as many episodes as they can out of the door. I won't name names but they're pretty easy to find and incredibly obnoxious for the most part. I would rather he makes videos as he does, slowly and with great care and as a compliment to working professionally on other things without the screaming noise of needing to be popular online.

I feel like the most successful channels and videos for film making are all staying in this KZfaq influencer bubble, where not the craft, but the creator and the lifestyle that they present, is in focus. Thanks Florentin.... true and sad story, but there is still film riot. The problem is, that the only way to make halve decent bucks is to make a ton of views and affiliate earnings... so I don't blame anybody when they go for clickbait and reviews. We hope that we win more love that views, and we can translate that into a strong community at some point.... in the end, we all have to feed our kids and pay our rent. The Marmalade was really impressed with it considering age and price… the said they would prefer it to modern ultra wide glass they used. Something for your FB group? Our Partner The Marmalade has a stop motion unit and several FX people coming from traditional animation. I have something in my head for years… live size stop motion combined with motion control. Should look absolutely real… because… it is ;-) You bet we had fun!!!

This is I think the fourth time I am watching this presentation. I like that despite the main attraction being the ultra expensive robot, you teach the concepts of filming in passes and using miniatures to circumvent the need for cgi quite well! The plane miniature scene blew my mind! I really wonder how it is like to work in a studio environment like that... It looks like a dream to me! EDIT: btw I absolutely love the intro you created here, it gives me goosebumps every time :D

I am all for it Cheeken... yeah, not everybody has access to robots (that includes us most of the time), so what would be the use of that besides the showcase? Always trying to put something out that (at least at some level) is helpful for a broader audience. I tell you... it's pretty sweet! Thanks.. I still like it a year later

@@MediaDivision Sadly not many videos about systems like these go beyond just showing some cool gear! And I really think that helping a broader audience is a great end goal since this content is very niche to begin with. More power to you! The filming in passes thing reminded me of another KZfaq video I watched a while ago that was about filming miniatures, you might find this interesting: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jrCFe8WVqpaonZs.html It is a making of from an indie short film called "Slice of Life" and the video here details the production of the film. It is a nice watch!

yeah… two years ago was another dimension… we learned a lot and took this medium way more serious. The time we spend on the last few episodes was staggering… I don't think we can do that often in the future… there is little to no money to be made here. Glad to have you on board now!

heheheh.... in Germany we say "danke für die Blumen", if we get a nice compliment. I just translated that to "Thanks you for the flowers". While I don't usually try to export German manner (reasons), this one is quite cute, right?

@@MediaDivision you are not "dancing dancing" like a classical ballet, but there is a choreography of the camera, a choreography for the different takes of you moving, and then a choreography made in postproduction with the different speed transformations: this is all the definition of a screendance, and you have become the Barýshnikov of screendance.

Well, I don't know... it is just not a reliable system. Maybe you are subbed to so many channels that I disappear, as I only bring out a video any other month.
