tracts are bundles of axons within the central nervous system

gray mater of cns are the cell bodies of neurons and white matter is the collection of axons of neurons nuclei are the collection of neuronal cell bodies embedded inside white matter within the central nervous system while ganglia are cell bodies in peripheral Nervous System cortex is the outer layer of brain substance itself i. e. cerebral and cerebellar cortices in CNS from sesory and motor cortex, the tracts carry information up and down passing through various gray matter on the course i.e passing through madullary pyramids are the pyramidal tracts then there are extrapyramidal similarly there are tracts of goll and burdach dorsal column medial leminiscus and antrolateral pathways. spinothelamics pinocerebellar so finally tracts are long axons betz cells in cortex are the largest neurons with long tracts
