I mailed my application to enroll in Medicare Part B on Monday, November 29th to the SSA office in North Chesterfield, Virginia. I mailed it registered mail, return receipt requested. I haven't received acknowledgement of the signed receipt and I'm wondering if I mailed the enrollment form to the correct office or should I have mailed it to a different address.

I mailed the necessary forms two weeks ago (including my prior employer's form verifying I was covered under the employer's healthcare plan). My healthcare runs out on October 31st. Before I can enroll in an advantage plan, I need verification that I now have Part B. When will I receive confirmation of my Part B coverage?

I have not seen on SS or Medicare site where to add Part B. That is not good. I waiting on hold for 40 minutes on the SS to come on the line, no one did. I called medicare to sign up and they said call SS. I am concerned.

I signed up for Medicare Part B as I already have Part A when I began collecting social security. How long before I know when I'm covered so I can sign up for an senior advantage plan.

I see dates of enrollment & switching a Medical Advantage Plan from 10/15 - 12/7 and also 4/1-6/30. Yet, every day on TV, some company is selling a plan. Can they sign up people every day of the year??? If so, why do you have limited dates?

It seems there are a lot of - Fly By Night - scam companies calling people to try to get them signed up for a Medicare Advantage Plan. I get about 6 calls a day. It's always a friendly female voice - until they transfer you, then it's some guy from Bombay! This really irks me to no end. Part of my job is Cyber Security so I detest anyone who tries to rip other people off. The callers phone number has the same area code as mine so you might think it's someone you know, but it's not. I try to get them to stop but they never do. Our government should be doing all they can to STOP these calls in the first place. I'm smart enough to not get ripped off, but it is a total nuisance and just puts me in a bad mood. But I don't doubt there are people getting seriously ripped off. This has to STOP!

Medicare ANNUAL ENROLLMENT (AEP) is from October 15 through December 7. Medicare Advantage OPEN ENROLLMENT (OEP) is from January 1 through March 31. This video says Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15 through December 7!
