Stephanie, yes, I watched the whole interview. I commented on the video actually. What’s interesting is she mentions a pet on those foods would be monitored by the vet, another reason it should be handled by vets only. Their comments on feline urinary diets is about 30 years old so they don’t keep up with real nutrition at all. And they comment oh hydrolyzed diets saying they don’t understand them when they have full access to the nutritionists who make the diets. And ironically all Medicus does is mimic the other vet diets nutrient levels, just with more attractive ingredients…. For $40 a pound!

I didn’t need a prescription to order and my dog likes it. He is doing well on it - and it has eliminated his gastrointestinal symptoms. His poops are good every day.

@@christinakuczora4862 a prescription is only required for their renal and urinary diets. As I said in the video, the diets mimic Hills diets very well so the only issue I have is their misleading info and the price. I’m glad it works for your pup!

Steph, the nutrients are fine but why would you spend $40 a pound? And why support a company misleading people with sick pets?

I have fed that very diet for years and sometimes my one mildly itchy dog needs to come off it. As great a diet as it is it isn’t really designed for true allergies. I did a 3 part video series on the different diet options that might help you. It takes the skin 4 weeks to cycle so generally you need to wait at least that long. You’re feeding mini so assuming small dog. At least that helps with cost. The Prescription Diet Derm Complete is really the newest and most effective way to get relief. It helps my ZuZu and her scratching is gone. After a few months she goes back to regular food. But she is a very mild case. I hope that helps.

@@PetFoodPuzzleGuy i will give it another 2 weeks , she is a 2 year old shih tzu i wouldn't say her allergies are severe her skin is healthy apart from redness under her armpits and redness between paws and underneath paws where she constantly licks and chews when shes awake .

Belinda, I have a video on it, but it just doesn’t make sense. And the people really pushing it are not very credible at all. But hard to ignore any sick or dying pets.

She must be watching Glen video's 😂 I asked her in 1 of her Purina bashing videos, "arent you going to be embarrassed 🤭 when you find that there is nothing wrong with Purina pet foods" she didnt reply

@Sue-Roxy well I like Judy Morgan, and I do feed my small dogs fresh foods, but I used Purina kibble for some larger dogs that I care for because i can't afford anything better for them. Now I'm just so stressed on what to get for them.

Purina even made a statement telling everyone to not worry, it's internet rumors started by a Holictic vet & we all know who the vet is who started these rumors... Judy Morgan, Dr Karen Becker, Rodney Habib all put fear in people, about kibble then people start making their dogs/cats diet & a few of these dogs & cat diets aren't balanced properly, some dogs ended up with food related DCM, Skin problems & other health problems & now Dr Karen Becker is posting "Make sure you balance your dogs diet- "BUY OUR NEW BOOK" 🤣It never ends. Rotate your kibble brands, pick 3 different brands you like, that have good numbers, lower calcium/phosphorus etc I like lower Kcals per cup under 350Kcals per cup, after you desex dogs cat they gain weight. Look at Hills, Purina, Diamond Natural have been around over 50yrs they test their batches if you have aproblem you can email or call Diamond & someone can look back on that batch nb thats on the kibble bag, so always keep your kibble in it's original kibble bag... Rotate to a new brand kibble your dog does well on as their old kibble bag is ending.

Jbrown, I did some dog and cat shows back in the 80s but maybe since I was mainly on the vet side, I didn’t hear the term. Sure sold alot of those pink bags back then! Yes, soaking was done to try and prevent bloat. Well, I still don’t like the term! lol! Thanks!

Ac, thanks for a great comment. Let me try to address a few points, though many of my videos would answer some of these for you. Please know I am not saying ingredients don’t matter. Ingredients deliver nutrients so of course they matter. But if you’re choosing an ingredient simply on appeal or philosophy you can easily be fooled. Example as far as dry food: one has chicken while the other has chicken meal. But the quality of the meal is so much better than the chicken meat, providing protein without excessive minerals. You said process matters. Absolutely! But you’re confusing human processed food, with high fat, sugar, all kinds of garbage, with the purpose of taste and convenience. A processed pet food, let’s say a renal diet, is formulated by board certified nutritionists after millions of dollars of research, with a very different purpose. As far as vitamins and minerals, I have a video on how they all act on each other and balancing all of them is virtually impossible with a variety of Whole Foods. You feel I undervalued the correlation between processed pet food and whole organic food. You are right. As of now there really is no proven benefit. The diet of whole organic ingredients could be unbalanced and the dry food can be delivering optimal nutrients. It can be obvious to you but that is not scientific. Your belief that dry food correlates with some expensive diseases also is not based on science. I spent every day for 34 years watching dry therapeutic diets manage those diseases and save countless lives. I can tell you the correlation of excessive protein, minerals and fat is proven in clinical studies over the last few decades. I look at low carb foods with high protein and high fat. Well, fat is more than double the calories if most carbs and all that extra protein that is not needed by the body will get processed and converted to glycogen to be burned first energy. So are carbs producing obesity or is it the high fat and excessive protein? No wonder we see excessive minerals in these diets, dumping in so much protein, making it sound like a good thing. But of course no nutrient levels that I could find anywhere! And I’ll have to email them since no phone. But I did see they are All Life Stage so we already know the nutrients will be excessive.
