Watching you guys figure things out was fun. :D Do note that trees respawn from trunks (after 2 years). If you dig up the tree stumps, the trees will not respawn, so don't remove the stump unless you want that tree gone forever.

This is mainly a first-person colony management sim with a light survival game attached. Although you can technically play it as a pure survival game, it gets very grindy since it's balanced on the assumption you have workers.

Tree felling goes to show that the characters in The Forest are made of hardier survival stuff than their medieval counterparts.

Happy to see this game on this channel! I remember trying it on game pass and then playing it for hours nonstop for a few days because I was so immersed in the whole hunting gathering building stuff, I kinda forgot how to take care of myself in real life lol.Wonder how much there is to this game apart from that

I never thought Id see the day that I was so much better at a game than you two, but then Im in my 36th year of my dynasty! Only 35 years and a bit to go lads! Gopher ended up at the town because the house is designated as Chays and you need one each. The season ended when you slept because there are only a few days per season unless you change that in settings.

Too much intelligence to enjoy the simplicity of this game lol. You guys make it so complicated :p This game is fun when you relax and just play it for the experience of it. Watching you guys run around frantically is funny as hell.

i played it for a bit a long time ago. Interesting concept. I wonder what it has gotten to by now. What it isn't is KCD with crafting and city building. The NPC and "story" stuff felt super generic. So solo it got a bit boring. lol, what it has in common with KCD is that if you do something bad, the whole world magically knows it. Because they had no time to build in a witness tracking system. That's why i modded the nonsensical reputation system out of KCD....

@@dominic.h.3363well google medieval video games. without testing i assume the first hit will be it. You may also find it by looking for a gigantic (and good!) let's play series from Gopher. Or you can read the spoiler below: Kingdom Come Deliverance. The alleged super realistic medieval story RPG with a psychic crime system. To be clear, it's very good, but some aspect like the psychic crime and equally psychic dialog system feel wrong in the scenario. Also the combat was completely and absolutely horrible. However Gopher got quite good at it. So it might have been me.

You need to make sure you have the 2.0 update (only available on PC via Steam at the moment; other platforms and services will get it in 2024), then the host starts a new game on the new Oxbow map with the co-op setting enabled, and sends the session code to the other players (note that the original Valley map is single-player only). The guests then select the "join game" option and input the session code they got from the host.
