I am excited to share this original meditation session on joy from nearly a decade ago! At this time, I was feeling intense anxiety and was not in a good place for my mental health. I was looking for SOME way to turn things around... I thought maybe if I did something to help somebody else, I might start digging out of this mental rut that I was in. I am glad to say that even though I still deal with stress and anxiety like everyone does, I gradually got into a better mental headspace through self-love and self-care.
And WOW... Thank you so much for your kind responses to all of the meditation session videos that I have posted over the years. I truly could not continue doing this without your kindness, your support, your VIEWS. So please, keep on meditating and seeking that better mental space for your mind, body, and soul. This guided meditation session is about 19 minutes long: 16 minutes of the session are guided (with my brief introduction), while the remaining 3 minutes are ambient music to help calmly end the session and return to your day… or go to sleep. This is a significant meditation in my life! Eight years ago I was diagnosed with MS and so very fortunately I stumbled upon this very mediation. The focus on JOY - not all the horrors I was experiencing mentally, emotionally and physically, but the ‘joy in simply being’ It was everything I needed. - so affirming and uplifting, enabling my focus on what worked right in my body and in my life. Subsequently I have completed numerous meditations and quite appropriately the content always focusses on being in the moment and/or troubling issues people experience, but this is the only one that facilities connection with the joy we can all experience for moments of time in our lives (or more consistently if we’re lucky) It is extremely special❤ When I was seen by a London Consultant a year after diagnosis, she asked if I’d heard of mindfulness and I replied Yes and laughingly added I’d done two on the train journey. It was this meditation and your ‘5 minute quick anxiety reduction’ meditation. As I posted in a comment - when I was then in hospital to receive daily infusions one of the things that helped me cope was thinking of some of the words from both meditations. THANK YOU!
