That is incorrect. It can be healed by use of alpha lipoic acid and its natural in some foods. 600mg 3 times a day will cure it either within a few days or up to 3 weeks. My experience was severe burning pains in upper legs and after 4 days its all gone now. The nerves have a protective skin and its the skin not the nerves which get damaged by high sugar over time. It wears away the skin so you get bad pains like I did. I also got numbness in my left leg. Alpha lipoic acid is so powerful it also is a super anti oxidant and helps restore memory and so much more.
