What is Syphilis? Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that affects the skin and mucous membrane of the external genitalia, and also sometimes the mouth. It is caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. This illustrated video reviews key aspects of the pathology, causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of syphilis.

Is the mother: baby RPRP ratio not the other way around? 4 fold increase in baby - So mother would be 1:4 and baby would be 1:16 and therefore a 4 fold increase and significant? This is what our local guidelines say.
