Great review guys. I completely understand where you're coming from Myke, but I can enjoy this type of music and, like you said, he does this type of music extremely well. "Lord Knows" is incredible to me.

Never been a Meek fan, ever. Ive always felt like he doesnt live up to the hype. He's from North Philly, and never speaks on anything going on there. He doesnt fit the lineage of great rappers that come from Philly, the Sigel's, Black Thought's, even the Freeway's, Young Chris's. His beats,energy, and affiliations, carry him, but nothing else. Im from Chester, which is right outside of Philly, btw.

Meek is part of a different era from state prop & them, he's more in the reed, Joey, quilly & chic raw lane, he just happened to cross over mainstream from the underground but i see what ur saying as far as content

I grew up on those 2rawforthestreets dvds, 2 of my favorite spittas from philly are Vodka and Kre Forch and they are from that same street rap era. I agree with you on him just so happening to crossover, but I dont think he represents the "philly mc" well imo

As far as Myke's point about calling the album basic, I agree. Meek fits in well with the overall theme of most rap albums today. Rappers in the past flossed too but at least they were just better artists and storytellers overall. In the end, I think albums like this are made to have the viewers find one or two songs (like R.I.C.O.) to ride to in the summer and then let it fall away until the next hype rapper comes up.

I saw a recent interview before this album dropped with Meek saying that rappers like Kendrick & J. Cole don't inspire him at all. Gave me a feeling this project would probably end up being lackluster but I was hoping I was wrong.

I think the reason Myke struggled on what to say is probably because mediocre music is the hardest thing to describe or criticize. Its easier to dissect the really good albums and the truly terrible ones than it is to explain why middle of the road projects are so dull.

Arrived at this review after I went back and checked the DRMChsr 2 review & it's what I expected. A limited album from an artist whose choses not to improve his craft and won't be hot in 3 years because of a lack of evolution in his musical talent. "Get better or go away and be quiet" The motto for these 1 lane artist. Thanks for the honest review.

Looking back at it, I actually loved this album. Tbh this is only his project that I like from front to back. I think Meek shit sound the same but this was different from the shit he usually does. I like Dreamchasers 2 tho

Myke!!! I only saw the first clip, but in watching the full review so i can assume u werent that interested. I used to really didnt understand the hype surrounding Meek, but come on this album was pretty solid. He needs to learn to be versatile, and i agree he has been working on calming down screaming. I saw that on his last mixtape. Also, a lot of Philly rappers have something in their voice that makes them come off like they r screaming..take Freeway for example. OAN: i need to go follow Stalley on IG cuz i have no clue where his career is headed.. n the other dude from Chicago too.

I like this album because of the sound and energy, i dont care too much about his lyrics being wack or not cause im spanish im not into english 100% (but i understand most of it tho), just wanna have a good time listening to this. Your opinions are giving another point of view that its totally different from mine, but i respect it and make me understand why it is a bad project.
