Update: The new Meepo Cyclone 110mm rubber wheels are 68A so the ride feel is more softer and it feels way better than the original 73A durometer

@@esk8nyc that was a horrible idea i think a hurricane rider should atleast have 500 miles plus on a shuffle tbh and start out in speed mode 2

I own 120 cloud , 110 cloud and the cyclone wheels. I prefer the 110 cloud over all, They feel a bit closer to a non electric skateboard wheels and roll smother. The 120 cloud feel dangerous at higher speeds because of the smaller amount of surface area touching the road. The cyclone absorb bumps better than the 110 cloud and are a little less wobbly at higher speeds by a small Margin, they grip better too. It feels like you need to constantly have your finger on the trigger with the cyclone wheels because of the resistance against rolling but with the clouds you roll much further once you stop accelerating which feels more fluid.

I got the cyclone wheels. They weigh about .9 pounds *each* brand new, *less* than a pound each (and that includes both bearings and the spacer installed), not two pounds each.

@@esk8nyc Is there a calculator out there for top speed with various gear ratio setups? I tried dkwan's site but found nothing of the sort :(.. Also, how does one pick the right belt once they decided on a size of a pulley? I was curious if I could combine 120mm cloudwheels with 38T.

@@igorg1732 yes you could use any gear ratio you would have to figure out what board you have and what mm belt you would need by measuring. If your motor plate is adjustable then it shouldn’t be a problem

11:50 cloudwheels actually get grippier when worn down. the contact patch gets wider when they're worn down compared to the really narrow contact patch when they're new.
@esk8nyc
@esk8nyc 2 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s true but once worn out there’s no more threading left and the wheels become buttery smooth, slip especially on wet asphalt
@chobofo
@chobofo 2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8nyc Do treads really matter for PU wheels, especially since CW are pretty soft PU (78a). Aren't most PU street wheels all smooth surface to begin with? I'm a bit confused because some say they get grippier when worn because larger contact patch, a few say they get less grippier cus of no treads.
@esk8nyc
@esk8nyc 2 жыл бұрын
@@chobofo I think your getting urethane wheels confused with pneumatics. For cloud wheels yes you would get more contact patch and better grip. The threading doesn’t really make a difference honestly it’s not meant for off-roading. However you if you had off-road pneumatics and the threading is worn out then yea it would be less grippier on off-road
@chobofo
@chobofo 2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8nyc PU= Polyurethane not Pneumatic right? which CW are PU. Because in the video you said CW would be less grippier once worn down, but in these comments section you say they do get grippier. I'm getting 120 CW on my 2nd board, and shit gets confusing when people contradict themselves, just tryin to get an idea of what will really happen once the CW is worn down. Other than that you do awesome detailed videos with charts and stuff, cheers man!
@esk8nyc
@esk8nyc 2 жыл бұрын
@@chobofo Ok when the cloudwheels are worn down they will get gripper on nice asphalt. But if you ride on wet roads they will have less grip than clouds with threads because it’s a smooth surface

Currently working on my review of these wheels too, they're super heavy and suck up battery. Overall I found them less comfortable than both cloudwheels and the Onsra rubber. Not my favorite wheels ever Also, cloudwheels get grippier as you ride longer. Same with the Meepos, except they are rubber to begin with so the starting traction is higher. Maybe on wet pavement they'd be more slippery, but on dry, they're better once they're worn in.

When I rode the Cyclone wheels over cracks and terrible conditioned road to me it felt like the cyclone wheels take more of the impact. But yes I agree the Cloudwheels do get grippier when they’re worn out with more contact path however they’re really slippery on wet surfaces. And yes they are a range killer for sure lol the only benefits I could possibly see with the cyclone wheels are for racing or a drag races.
@RBEMotion
@RBEMotion 2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8nyc Yeah the benefits are few and far between. Interesting you thought they absorbed more impacts. I haven't ridden the cloudwheels in a couple months but last I recalled they were a little softer

I own a Meepo Hurricane and also purchased the 110 mm Cyclone Wheels. Do you know if when you install the Cyclone Wheels, do you have to insert a black spacer between the inner and outer wheel bearings? I think they came with the wheels, but I am not sure if they need to be installed. Thanks for any help.
