As a single mother, Detective Heuer had a career in construction management but had always felt drawn to law enforcement. Led by her walk with God, and her favorite scripture, “Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” -Psalm 82:4, she made the decision to join #PHXPD nearly 9 years ago.
Detective Heuer began her career in the South Mountain Precinct where she was a Gang Liaison officer while on patrol. She spent some time as a Recruit Training Officer and was part of the South Mountain Precinct Crime Suppression Unit before making her way to the Bomb Squad.
As a detective on the Bomb Squad she has been able to combine her love of academics, problem solving and physical fitness into the work she does every day. She believes this job has made her stronger and more resilient than she ever imagined she could be.
