This is also one of my dream cars! Trying to get a Mazdaspeed3 as a practical daily before getting a sports car. I really want t-tops though. Those and pop-ups need to come back!

@@tobytowns1 it's a lot now. Back when I was looking in HS it was like 3-5k for a good non turbo sw20. But imo the 80s one looks cooler

t-tops are nice, but apparently they creak alot cause the chassis aint as strong as a hardtop. i recently got a 1990 hardtop auto but the previous owner put a sunroof in it, it doesn't creak after i reinforced the roof around the sunroof.

Get the SW20 5SFE, great daily! I have the 3SGE jap NA and it's never let me down, going to build a 3SGTE swap in the garage for after I finish Uni :)

looks cute in that shiny red. 90s japanese sportcars are best, i think they all should be preserved forever. i like that the MR2 doesnt look to long, that looks chic, nice little sportscar.

I miss my MR2 it was my first car and it burnt up in 2020 but I hopefully I can get another one in the future I loved that car

Late 80s and early 90s imo was the peak of automotive design. They were made to function well and last long. Owning one now, I think of all the rubber parts and gaskets that need replaced and it makes me sweat. Not looking forward to replacing my oil pan gasket and rear main seal this summer on my ‘89 Dakota 😅

A little late, but the first thing I suggest for 91-92 models is a suspension geometry kit. The earlier models are what made the mr2 infamous.

Coolant lines going to the radiator in the front or if it’s really riced out someone can put the equivalent of a hood scoop going down right above where the engine cover is
