Meet My New Little Aquatic Friends | Blue Reef Tank
This week, I'm sharing a special video about a secret I've been keeping for a while.
I am so excited to have the chance to keep one of my favourite fish. They are captive-bred babies and were only about 1-2cm when I first got them. They've grown so much bigger now and hope they enjoy their new home, the Waterbox Peninsula Mini 25. During the quarantine period, I've successfully trained them to eat frozen lobster eggs and white worms. I'm also adding copepods weekly to the tank and hatching baby brine shrimps on the side to give them a varied diet. I am so relieved that they all get along and do not fight. Looking forward to more adventures with these little guys :)
Please do your own research before buying any fish - this fish is not for beginners.
Hope you enjoy this week's content and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on the exciting things to come!

You're a great guy. Very helpful for people interested in marine aquariums. Your movies are excellently edited and it is a pleasure to watch them. I watch it several times and I can't stop. I like your perfectionism and the ease,calm with which you take care of everything. It's so relaxing with that background music! someone wrote that you could change the music, but I consider that the one you used is perfect!♥️♥️♥️

@@BlueReefTank I have a question I want to try out the hobby but we travel a lot, would a water box be self sustained if I got an auto feeder and was gone for ten days?
@BlueReefTank
@BlueReefTank 2 жыл бұрын
@@lukebouwman7271 That will depend on the type of fish you want to keep. If you're only raising a couple of clownfish, it should be fine if you're gone for 10 days and use an auto-feeder. Just make sure you have an ATO set-up as well to top off any water that evaporate.

The patterns of the Spotted Dragonet are what I think created the spark for me to start reefing. I just went into a Marine only store one day about a year ago and thought they were stunning. But I would only ever buy a Dragonet if I had a good regiment of culturing Phytoplankton and Copepods. Guillards F2 is pretty much unavailable where I live so I just constantly browse the web for an Aussie based Phyto fertilizer. Once I'm somewhat competent and consistent with my cultures I would definitely consider buying one because they're truly stunning.

A lovely relaxing video once again, I wonder what else you could be hiding if you were hiding three whole dragon newts! Have you ever considered larger invertebrates like fire shrimp, boxing shrimp or Arrow crabs? In order to add a larger creature in your small systems. They mostly survive off of the food you already culture so I think it may be an interesting new area for you.

Awesome! I recently saw a guy’s video of his biota dragonets eating pellets and flakes! I’m sure not as tasty, but an awesome feat considering how picky they normally are. I’m thinking of getting one for my peninsula 25 once it’s up and running and a bit more mature. I had one in a nanocube long ago and it sadly perished.
