I’m a maternity RN and I thank you for mentioning that breastfeeding did not come easily. It is actually a rare mom and baby pair who find it simple. So many new mothers become frustrated and sad about that and it is a blow to their self confidence. It is very common to have to practice, try new positions and methods, and even use formula before or in addition to breastfeeding. It doesn’t mean a mother and baby won’t be close, or that the baby will be less healthy.

As a birth doula, a lot of birthing people say that pushing is really great! Its much more functional feeling and you can feel the progression, whereas you cannot always connect and feel that with contractions. So happy to hear that your birth experience was protected by Christopher and listening to your body. Congratulations mama, your rainbow baby is so healthy and perfect 🩷🫶
