@@daviddowning8411 That was a freak accident involving a horse from Lifeguards not Blues and Royals , both horse and Trooper perfectly fine .

I Have been watching an American Channel for a few weeks and their attitude to Black Americans and their behaviour to Coloured Americans is appalling and White Americans should be ashamed of themselves considering that most White Americans are descended from uneducated Eastern Europeans who were uneducated Eastern Europeans and I remember them being sent in shiploads to America and I know. They killed (Red Indians) stole their Land put them in Reservations. PS I'm nearly 85 so I know what I'm talking about and now their ostracising other human beings because of their colour. We have special Day in this Country called Poppy Day and special memorials with Poppies on them because of where they died on the Fields of Flanders in France. Where Poppies grow in abundance

What a truly majestic horse. I can understand why, logistically, they’d need to mount a smaller guard on him. An 8.2hh horse with a 6’+ guard wouldn’t fit in the box without knocking his Albert helmet with its spike & plume off - a less than dignified spectacle.

Pretoria is a very pretty horse. My boy is a 17.1hh Hanoverian x Irish Sport gelding, and it is a very long way to the ground.

Gorgeous horse, keep the nippy ones coming stops tourists from crowding them. When there's 15 people all over the horse, you can see it getting overwhelmed, so guard has to back the horse into the box, crazy 😢

John, thank you for another brilliant video, and another GORGEOUS Horse! He must be the same size as the much missed Quasi. Lovely to see the Corporal Of Horse back again for a few days. I saw those videos you mentioned, the ones with the Troopers Family, with his Nan, his Sister and his gorgeous little Niece. I particularly liked the one when the Corporal Of Horse told him to smile 😃 for them! He's a very Handsome Guard 💂 Anyway, once again thank you for sharing yet another brilliant video, I'll look forward to seeing your next one.

As a many years ago groom for an equestrienne who rode dressage, I would arrive at the stables to find "my" horse in a scruffy new zealand rug, covered in mud from rolling and having fun. 😊 👍 Back to the yard with you, my mucky "child"! Where I washed, groomed, plaited, greased docks and nostrils, oiled hooves and turned the scruffy "child" into a show piece ... and didn't he KNOW it!! 🤣🤣 Didn't stop him getting mucky again, but he enjoyed being "tarted up" and all the adulation and praise he received, along with some rosettes! 😊 Happy days! ❤👍

The regiments source horses depending on the job they are intended for, the Blues are well known for the large, chunky, horses with lots of presence. The Artillery need speedy, nippy, agile horses to pull the Gun Carriages!

Love your videos, watch many others too. I have a question-- noticed when the horses get agitated, with no parades or external problems around, there is a lot of horses poop in the box. I don't think these animals like stepping and the odor of other horses poop. Can this be true.? If so, could the boxes get cleaned more?

There are no sergeants in the Household Cavalry - the rank doesn’t exist. Queen Victoria thought the word “sergeant” sounded too much like “servant” so banned it. So the three chevrons with a metal crown above denotes the Corporal of Horse - which, you are right. would be the equivalent of sergeant in any other regiment.

In the rest of the Army 3 stripes & a crown denotes a Staff Sergeant in the case of the infantry a Colour Sergeant, it the rank between Sergeant & Sergeant Major (Warrant Officer Class 2).

You’re the first I’ve heard explaining the police role. I’m in the US, police do crowd control. Military doesn’t come in until major riots, disasters, the big stuff. Interesting. Now I can stop grumbling about it. Thank you. Please tell more, like when would the army be called in. I love learning! Would an army unit be stationed there? Not a huge one. I don’t know your terminology.

What these horses have to tolerate - the racket, sirens, screaming, smells, tourons mauling them, exhaust fumes in their faces - is a shame.
