Hello, Thank you for contacting health careers. It is great to hear that you are interested in Biomedical Engineering. There are three routes into biomedical engineering. Firstly With two or three A-levels including science subjects, and a good GCSEs at A-C grade, you can enter the NHS Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) by taking an accredited BSc degree in healthcare science (medical engineering). Other level 3 qualifications may be accepted but it will depend on the university so you should check with them about this. www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/healthcare-science/studying-healthcare-science You can also apply for a place on the graduate-entry NHS Scientist Training Programme (STP). For this you must have a 1st or 2.1 either in an undergraduate honours degree or an integrated master’s degree in a pure or applied science subject relevant to the specialism you are applying for. If you have a 2.2 degree or better in any subject, you will also be considered if you have a higher degree* that is relevant to the specialism for which you are applying. www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/career-planning/study-and-training/graduate-training-opportunities/nhs-scientist-training-programme Lastly, With experience as a registered clinical scientist, you can apply for Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST). www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/career-planning/developing-your-health-career/nhs-higher-specialist-scientist-training For further information on biomedical engineering please view our website here: www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/healthcare-science/roles-healthcare-science/physical-sciences-and-biomedical-engineering/medical-engineering/entry-requirements-skills We hope this information can help. Ryan is not a medical engineer, Ryan is a medical equipment technician.
@jakeg12345
@jakeg12345 5 жыл бұрын
Engineer is used in a broader sense in the UK and covers what would be called a technician in many other countries. What precisely someone does is clear from context. For example, I am a controls and instrumentation technician but my job title is field service engineer. It is all well understood however.

@@jypapiiiii Well, I just graduated from BE and landed a job as Software Engineer. During my college days, I did a few projects related to the medical field. I think as a CS student Data Science is a good way. There are a lot of medical advancements which need the handling of complex data to automate the process. But as a fresher diving deep into data science is not possible. They expect some experience which is hard to get. I am still looking for an opportunity.
