We've got a special episode for you guys today! Adam from Vancity Audi brought out his 516whp (~600hp at the crank) Audi RS3 drag car for us to take out for a quick drive in the backroads. The Audi RS3 Quattro is new to the North American market, and has been an incredibly popular platform for tuners thanks to its robust turbocharged 2.5L 5-cylinder engine. Adam is still on a factory turbo, but with full bolt-ons, and E65 fuel blend, a little bit of software witchcraft he was able to run the 1/4 mile recently as quick as 9.97 @ 137.42 mph. @@TC-db5fm Thanks! The gauges are from Zeitronix. One is for my ethanol content and the other is multi-purpose, reading my AFR, boost and so on. The actual mount is a custom piece by Reiter Performance. If we have enough interest in them we will make a bunch and sell them.

The S3/RS3 platforms are some of the most underlooked platforms. Super small footprint and is just the right size with crazy under stressed iron block engines and 4 wheel drive that allow for reliable high power builds. Also its so low that it feels so planted on the ground with the high curb weight (3500 lbs).

If you can afford one of these just make sure there is half the cars msrp sticker price in the bank for repairs because once a tune goes on it, wave bye-bye to your power train warranty.

It is actually the OEM sport exhaust that came with the car. I've only upgraded the downpipe and the midpipes.

Almost bought this car a 2018 rs3 instead choose a 2020 m340 to mod out I still question my decision til this day the m340 stock sounded and felt better but I feel this car has so much potential and it’s so clean looking it just felt less fun less slippery way more of a controlled car

RS3 is the fastest car in Audi’s Lineup. Nothing else can beat it with Stage 2 and E85. This car weighs only 100lb more then the V10 R8 and makes 700whp compared to the R8s 500-600 range, with that you can’t even Tune, you gotta Supercharge it or Twin Turbo. RS3 is the best deal for someone who wants a 0-60 2.5 car and 600-700whp on stock Trans, Turbo, Motor for 60k new, plus the 5-6k to upgrade.

Yeah that's what few owners will tell you - service life of these super high boost engines is severely compromised. If you love rebuilding engines or have a shop nearby that's great, for others not so much

Having a built motor does not provide any additional performance unless it is tuned to use those forged internals. I have always used Off The Shelf tuning solutions on the stock turbo.

Why do they put Quattro on it when it’s not a Quattro? I’ve had many Stage 3 Audi’s and definitely want one of these next. Already had two 8V S3’s with major builds and loved them. I still miss my Stage 3+ B5 S4 though the most.

Quattro is simply the name Audi uses for their AWD systems. It doesn't refer to a specific type of AWD system.

Why you running front wheel drive only? Your clip of drag strip was front spin, quattro, proper quattro is slightly rear wheel oriented until the front grabs due to its group B rally history, and mostly cous of ice, sleet snow and mud on the stage. It's just an observation but please explain, I'd like to know

Big power with tiny brakes. Why not just downsize the wheels and choose a lighter wheel/tire combo?

Because the stock brakes weigh about 500lbs

@@stinger15au Weight farther away from the axis of rotation (wheel/tire) matters more than weight closer to the center (rotor). A lightweight BBK or just two piece rotors in stock size would make more sense. You could get 17" wheels in the same width that weigh 5lbs less each than the current aftermarket wheels.

I'm guessing with the purchase of the car and everything that has been done to it including rebuilt of the engine you're looking at a good 85k I guess when you have that kind of money to spend you're not worrying about reliability or resale value and to that I say to you it's an amazing built and a great achievement for the money

2018. I was running cheap Lexani tires back when this video was filmed. Now I use Nitto NT555R's.
