So many questions which started with: "What's the best....?" that must have been very challenging for Chris 😅 I like these teasers for their next releases. I'm already very curious about it! Thank you for the interview!

The fact they're chamelons, flitting from one genre to another is what makes them extra special for me. I love rock & metal the most, but have pretty wide-ranging musical tastes, & it warms my heart that all my tastes are catered for by LOTL.

I'm a new fan who came in via the Blood and Glitter Album. I'm sad to see the colorful "sugar" of that album that I've become addicted to, but glad to see that I get another opportunity to see new darker songs. That and I'm really excited for the cover album. 😁

I rly do like some of their songs, i'm not a big fan of that kind of dressing and style etc., sometimes even feels a bit uncomfortable for me (i'm not homophobic or anything but maybe just a bit old school when it comes to metal music, one of my best friends is gay and at least once a year we go to meta shows/festivals together, he never dressed different since he outed himself or anything so that's not the point), but i do respect Lord of the Lost for doing their own thing and keep doing it and like Chris states nothing is good or bad but just personal preference, i'm curious about what's coming next and would definitely do enjoy seeing them live one day. Experimental bands doing their own thing is actually very interesting, i love Ghost and many of their songs, but others are really not my thing to listen to which is perfectly fine, but also like them a lot more since the cardinal dressing style instead of the pope thingie where Tobias would be a lot more in one place, but the stage energy went up a lot after that. All of this is just my opinion and even more feeling about these bands and no hate at all.

Hmm, interesting reply. I always perceived rock music artists to challenge societal norms and really be out their dressing and styling and costuming however they feel

It is quite logic that we are not all going to like the same things, as you wrote, no matter if it is about outfits, musics, personality traits in people, philosophies of life, and so on. The very positive aspect that I get from your answer is that it doesn't prevent you from enjoying their music :-) ! A question I would ask though, if you want to dive more into an introspection topic, is "why and what exactly makes you feel uncomfortable ?" Not for you to answer here, mainly for yourself (if it sparks interest). As far as I am concerned, I've always enjoyed researching and understanding why I feel ill-at-ease with specific situations or topics. It also seems to help in general communication, in the sense that when you do it a lot for yourself, you also do it with others more easily.

@@ladytakarazuka It's a complex matter in a way, but exactly nothing will rly stop me from enjoying or trying to enjoy and listen to certain music or a band. And i said sometimes even a bit uncomfortable, not like i actually feel like that all the time about this stuff or even their outfits no, and it's mostly even just a feeling like i said. 'Judas' (for me and for my taste) sounded amazing, and stuff like Bloot and Glitter i'm not rly sure about in comparison, without doing any research about the background about similar stuff it sometimes feels like a bit forced out of an LGBTQ+ community point imo, like we get guys dressing like woman, transgender people and it's like a bit like a hype to join this trend to force all this on people and give way more exposure to it in comparison with how many people actually are trans etc. ... and before anyone is going to call me any name, i have absolutely nothing against those people at all and sometimes i think the extreme exposure about this topic is fueling hate towards them, so it can be in a negative way towards this group which is exactly the opposite as what is preferable for them and for the people that just want them to have a happy normal life so in a way if it's just about this trend it can be a really dangerous thing unfortunately. Like i said before from a non research perspective it can look like that, not saying Lord of the Lost is just following a hype or anything cause if they just wanna explore doing this stuff like hey ho go on and i'm curious about their future experiments and music, but when it comes to what some people will feel it's not always a good thing. I never rly wanted to try and go this deep about it in a youtube comment section, and i hope no one gets me wrong which will unevitable will happen with like only half reading my comment (+ i'm not a native English speaker), but if anything i wish any extremes weren't necessary in todays world, like i kinda said earlier one of my best friends is gay or probably even bi-sexual but the onlything he told me one day was like i have a boyfriend, we didn't go deep in about the subject, we could've if he wanted to but i just told him well ok bud for me nothing changes, you are my friend for years and nothing like this matters to me or our friendship and this was exactly what he loved to hear, and most of his friends were okay and some were a bit surprised maybe but not much changed for him and i'm happy about that, i also know a couple of trans people, only 1 a bit closer to me at somepoint, before and after their transition, if someone would wanna talk about that they could've, but i think they always enjoyed the fact i'm very neutral and just act like it's something private and only if it's their wish to talk about it, it should be a thing and otherwise just tread them as normal human beings and not some objects of hype, or hate. Another example was also from that one friend, he was in a diving club and another hobby club and afraid about telling everyone there as some older people and yeah, which i stated like no one forces u to go and tell them all like in a group, or even ask acceptance cause u shouldn't, nothing changed with u as a person, their connection with you or your contribution to them. In an extreme example i told him when i go to a new group or meet people i'm not like hi, my name is Jeroen and i am straight, your sexual preference, what u enjoy or anything shouldn't matter, if people ask u about it in a respectfull way u can talk about it if u want, but no reason to put yourself in a spotlight like that if u don't feel like it. Wouldn't a world where everyone just can be their own self and have their own sexuality without any hate or weirdness be great? Long story short if someone feels better in a certain dressing way, sexuality, music or anything then great go and enjoy, but kinda sad for all the people who are only in this to jump on this hypewagon and cause more problems then good a lot of the times by making all of it more weird and exotic instead of going to a future where it's just normal and nothing others should even bother about, i hope you, and others who came this far reading this comment understand what me and others i know try to say about all this, and like i said it's way more then should be typed in a comment section under a music video, but here we are and i hope it helps.

@@jeroen0011 Hello again :-) I admit that I was surprised that you replied on this topic (most people indeed don't necessarily feel comfortable with potentially exposing themselves on the Internet) and very curious to read your long answer. No problem about english, I understand that very well, I am not a native speaker either. I agree with you that many people on the Internet tend to forget that not everyone speaks/writes good english, which leads to many situations of miscommunication. What I am going to write are observations I made in my life so far, they of course only engage myself. As there are different "levels" in my answer, I will address "Lord of the Lost's connexion to LGBTQ+" first. How much did you dive into their discography (only Blood & Glitter and Judas ?) and interviews so far ? And Chris Harms' previous bands, such as The Pleasures ? This topic is important to them as private people too (not only as a band making music). And as far as Chris Harms is concerned, it goes back to his late teenage years, if I am not wrong. Now, about the general topic of "LGBTQ+" 's visibility (if I can summarize it that way)...is the way it is portrayed in the media (mostly) something that helps this community or something that harms it ? It honestly always felt like a complex question, to me. One that I can't answer because we are all so different, as human beings. Life has always been all about nuances in my mind, that's why I never truly managed to understand "extremes". From what you wrote, we might be pretty similar in our "neutrality". We both respect and accept people as they are, as long as they don't harm others. We don't care about what we perceive as "external or secondary factors" (for me, it would be: appearance, gender, sexuality, colour of skin, etc.). We mainly care about their words and their actions :-) . So, we may not perceive why people would feel the need to become very visible to everyone about those "external factors". But clearly not all human beings share our "neutrality", you probably noticed it too in your everyday life (or you are very lucky and only met benevolent and respectful people). People get insulted, bullied, wounded and even killed for those same "external or secondary factors" that don't matter to us. And in most cases of violence, the victims were not "putting emphasize" on what got them into those situations. The agressors were afraid of their differences and of what they couldn't understand. Or in some cases, they were afraid of similarities that they didn't want to see. Acts of violence from some human beings are what led some other human beings to want to advocate in a very visible way for LGBTQ+ rights, first and foremost. And about the hype/trend nowadays, for me there is one, it is observable through many tools, especially social medias. So let's hope that the sincere efforts and fights of many people won't be crushed too much by the few ones who don't understand the implications of this topic and only use it to "ride the wave". This topic would require more developments but my time is limited for today ;-) So I will end by telling you something, as an echo of your fear of being misunderstood on the Internet. What I am the most disappointed with us as humankind is how we are not able, in many situations, to have emotionally intelligent communication: listen to each other's point of view (especially when we disagree), understand mutually why we feel and think the way we do, learn about each other's fears/weaknesses/difficulties in order to overcome them together.
