I love everything except the front bumper and the winch. Both need to be heavier IMO. Otherwise, it's perfect! 😁

Yea if I was building it now i would have done a 2x6 front bumper like the rear to fill the gap to the grill. But I made the bumper about 25 years ago and modified it for the used winch about 20 years ago😎

Very nice video Dave! I haven't seen the Beast since you lived here in Oregon, so it was nice to see the extra work you've done to it. Take care my friend. God bless.

My dad took a 66 step side like that and put the cab and bed on top of a 78 4x4 k5 blazer frame with 400 small block he had to shorten the frame some for it to fit then think he had prob about 6 or 8 inches of lift he did this back in the late 80s early 90s

Man.... that was my spot I hung out at all the time. Little red rock. Is the road still blocked off?? Cause last year they had security preventing ppl from going out there. Beautiful truck btw.

Well they are doing construction and it changes every week but the end of Lake Mead or Farhills if you go by your satellite view on a navigation map you can see where the trails still are and find your way back😎

Man I really like the way you utilized the rear end cover bolts into the truss. I have seen people who weld trusses to cast rear end housings and I do not like that method at all. Im speaking from nearly 50 years of welding various types of cast and I don't care what fancy rod you use your not going to get a lot of strength from that weld and most likely weaken the entire housing, Now thats just my opinion and many may disagree but I'll still stick to my experiences . I also really like 4 wheel disk brakes ,I have never liked drums on the back I've always had issues with keeping them adjusted well enough to keep them doing their part. Sure they work ok for a while after doing a manual adjustment but sooner or later that wont be the case. Disc brakes will stay tight until you wear them completely out which in my book makes just one less thing to keep checked and maintained

I appreciate your comment and your professional input. Thank you. I agree with you completely! A lot of people weld the center section to the tubes. But for the reasons you stated, to make it stronger, I added 3 more plug welds to each tube and of course, the bracket you mentioned. To me it seemed the strongest way also. And, oh yes, the drum brakes were constantly grabbing. I’m so glad they’re gone!!!
