MEET THE BIRDS OF PREY | Introducing my birds | PART 1 (2020)

Time to meet the birds of prey, the real stars of the channel. in this video i will introduce my birds, 4 of the 8 that make up Mercer Falconry. I decided to split this video, and in part 1 we meet the aviary birds. This includes Kit the barn owl, Sway the eurasian eagle owl, Wilbur the yellow billed kite, and Igor the eurasian kestrel.
Although Wilbur and kit are technically a bird of prey, they are not used for traditional falconry. They are purely display animals.
These four birds are free lofted meaning they have their own aviary each. But isnt that just how it should be?
Well keep an eye out for part 2 of this same video where I will introduce you to the four other birds and why they don't live in aviaries.

Sway please. Another informative video with a cute outtake to finish. Appreciate they are animals and therefore don't stick to a script, so it was tough to hear what you were saying sometimes. Maybe bullet points on the screen summarising your voice over, so we can still appreciate the birds but also get the info we need at the same time. Great stuff though, Dan. Keep them coming x

I tried filming this a few times because kit kept shouting over me, I eventually plucked up the courage to just go and film it in the field I fly them in and when I went it had started raining so I thought I just need to get this done weather they shout over me or not. The next one is much easier to listen to

Patsys taking a holiday/ retirement in a friends aviary at the moment but I now have Peggy the Harris Hawk. Patsy didn’t hunt because all of my birds are display birds but Peggy seems to want to so I might get into it with her
