i’m glad ol boy noticed that trope in tyler perry movies too 😭 the evil husband is always dark skin and bald while the new, better, love interest is light skin with curly hair, loves him some Jesus and the main character 💀

BW are never portrayed too well in his movies either lol. The BW always have to have some type of past trauma, is a mammy or ratchet. I think Tyler perry more so makes the rich guy the villain and the broke guy a Saint which is not a good message for BW. However, despite this, I would be lying if I said that Tyler perry movies didn’t have SOME good messages.

Can you just stop spreading that "light skinned man saving a woman from a dark skinned man" in tyler Perry movies narrative ?? Its not even true. Boris is not light skinned and neither is shemar moore. And the guy in "Why did I Get Married" who "saved" Sheila wasnt light skinned either. He was between brown skinned and dark skinned. Stop pushing that false narrative. Smh Name me FIVE movies from tyler Perry where a light skinned man was the savior of a woman. Ill be waiting

Why did I just realize this movie is a mixture of Tyler Perry meet the browns play and what’s done in the dark play because the dad and son storyline is in what’s done in the dark not meet the browns play😂

You can be friends with your children and still be disciplined, being just tough and hard on your kids going to fw them and that’s when hatred comes in. Be friends with your kids, discipline them, love them all that shii.

The question you asked at the end about Brown’s dad letting her get that old and not saying anything about her being his daughter. Shiiit 😂 my dad led me to believe I was his only child. He told me about my little sister when she was about 7. She always knew about me but for some reason he wouldn’t tell me about her. The day he told me it was random af and out the blue.
