Women are so selfish and evil for joining the FD. A fireman once told me that whenever he's paired with a firewoman to clear a burning structure, he knows deep down that if something should happen to him, she won't be able to carry or drag him to safety. Firemen didn't have that fear when the departments were exclusively men. Firemen can't say anything because they would be fired for "sexism" or sent to sensitivity training for reeducation. Imagine hating men so much that you cause them to have an additional fear on the job. Even if firemen were allowed to express their concerns, women would still stay on the job.

Question for all of you: If your children and family members including aged bed-ridden parents are trapped inside a burning building on the 5th floor and fire fighters are to be sent to rig up ladders, carry heavy equipment, run through dark smoke filled alleys of the building and lift/carry and run with the people through the building to windows, and then carry them through ladders down to safety, who would you prefer? A team of male firefighters or a team of female firefighters?

i met someone who actually wrote the qualification test for NYC fire fighters. he admitted that he was required to lower the standards on the test qualification, in order to ensure more females would pass the test. I thought he might be concerned about doing this, but he lived in the suburbs where there are no high rise buildings and he was getting ready to retire, so he was just doing what he was told. I am just glad I don't live / work in a city that lowers their standards so more females can pass the test. And yes there is a quota system, so a certain number of females will be hired, even if their are male candidates that score higher on the qualification test. I don't live in NYC and I was never an apsiring fire fighter, so this doesn't affect me directly, but I just wanted to pass the info along, beause I know there are a lot of people who don't believe the standards were lowered (or know they were but won't admit it, for a number of reasons).

Coming from a family of 8 Firefighters going back to 1864 I could never understand why NOT! That was until talking with one of my Uncles a Retired Captain after 40 years as a member of a Volunteer department in Upstate New York. He said that the main issue was Women themselves following the lead of Women in Fashion just like how Women kept other Women out of Sports but made it look like it was the Men who objected. The next issue was the Wives of the Firefighters who fought against women and men living in the Fire House together. The last item was the cost of retro-fitting the Firehouses to accommodate Women only Bathrooms and Bunkrooms or what we called Squad Bays which were wide open big long rooms on the Second floor. It was actually the Mayors and City Council Members and women on those Councils who objected since they had designs on the money that would be needed to retro fit those fire houses for influencing Votes. Those same issue still exist today around the Nation.

I totally agree. When female firefighters are coming in to save people and property from raging fires, the fire does NOT do much damage, seeing that the firefighters are women and have lower standards. Fires are very understanding that way.

01:26- "...I had a lot of training to get where I needed to be, to start the fire academy. And so these women, they helped me through, so I am just PAYING IT FORWARD..." THAT WOULD BE "PAYING IT BACK." It is safe to say Winston Churchill here was not in the top of her class. How lazy do you have to be not to have prepared comments, for a planned and publicized interview? I don't see a transfer to PIO in her future. Shame on NBC anchors and editors for not letting her do another take on the interview.

Pay it forward is an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying the kindness to others instead of to the original benefactor. Safe to say you were never in the top of your class.

@@humphreyochieng7377 Wrong, but I guess you're used to hearing that. Yea... 6'2 220 pound man is on the 2nd floor of his house almost passed out from all the smoke minutes away from death he looks up to see his savior is a 5'4 130 pound female firefighter who is wearing 45 pounds of gear trying to carry, drag, and pull him out of there for 4 mins she tryed but she could not move him more then 3 feet . Just his luck he sees another firefighter coming towards him , this firefighter was a 6'4 black guy that picked him up threw him over his shouldes went down the stairs and out the door in matter of 15 sec. True story, this happened to me 3 years ago.. Women haves no business doing this kind of work. She could have killed me all because she thinks its cute to have diversity and inclusion in one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

Just as the physical aptitude tests were lowered so that women could join the fire department, intelligence aptitude tests were lowered so African Americans could also join. There was nothing stopping them from applying and trying to take the tests. If you want to see more of your people working in government or on television, might I suggest immigrating to an African country? The truth is they wouldn't want you and you'd hate every minute of living in Africa. Native Africans and real African American immigrants can't stand you guys. Imagine living in China and wanting to see more blax working for the fire department. Talk about entitlement. You want exactly what you complained about, which is a racially segregated firefighter crew. It's segregation and gentrification when we do it, but when y'all do it, suddenly it's diversity and cultural enrichment.

First off, let me make it perfectly clear that I believe that anyone who is able, fit and willing to perform a job satisfactorily should not be denied that job, other than for a very legitimate reason. ( Age, non-citizen, criminal record, etc.) But I also believe that it is important to try and select the most qualified candidates for that job. That of course is no easy task and it is not a perfect process, but personal bias should have no place in the selection process. All that being said, I'd like to ask you a few questions... Speaking of capabilities as they relate to gender.....do you consider it sexists to segregate the genders participating in competitive althetics, as they do in the Olympics, etc.? Isn't there some biolgically determined physical advantage that one gender possesses over the other, and isn't that how society justifies such discrimination based solely on gender? Should such discrimination and segregation be illegal? Your thoughts?
