Sorry to correct, sir. Bisaya is a group of dialect which has a wide variety of dialects coming from Visayas Region. Kasama na gyan ang Cebauno na typically we understood na "bisaya" . The other dialects na kasama sa group ng Bisaya are Hiligaynon(Ilonggo in some), Karay-a, Boholano, Siquijoron, and including Waray.

@@pheromone714 Actually, Boholano and Siquijornon are dialects of the Cebuano language. Go ahead and ask people from those areas, and they will tell you that they can understand each other. Hiligaynon/Ilonggo, Karay-a, and Waray are separate languages also. HOWEVER, all these languages have something in common ....they are all classified as Visayan languages. This is why native speakers of any of those languages/dialects above will call their native tongue as "Bisaya" which is correct and their right to do so.

Madali lng nman intindihin. When u say Bisaya (Visayan in English) it means people from Visayas ang various parts of Mindanao na may historical at linguistical connection sa Visayas. Cebuano, Waray and Hiligaynon languages/people are bisaya.

All people of Visayas are Bisaya therefore all languages/dialects in Visayas are Bisaya. It's a misconception to solely associate the term Bisaya to Cebuano speakers; But those who can speak Visayan languages in Mindanao can call theirselves Bisaya as well. Particularly those Cebuano and Hiligaynon speakers. Btw, stop calling it dialect.
