I love how the host treats everyone with so much respect. Especially the kids. He treats the kids with so much kindness and respect you can see an immediate change in their attitude within the video. The parents should try and learn a thing or two.

I'm a high functioning guy with aspergers and I really hope that last kid gets the help he needs. He's a sweet kid he just has mental barriers others can't see. He just needs help finding his peace. I used to lash out a lot from not being able to communicate effectively and I would get frustrated. Hoping for the best bud

I feel bad for the last kid. He's really smart and has developmental issues that are the roots of his behavioral problems. More than likely that "prison" program is going to do a lot more harm than good and possibly make him worse. Sad his mom/aunt don't realize that or have the resources to get him the help he actually needs. Only in the south would a "therapist" recommend a prison program for kids with Autism and Aspergers smh, that just means they're not trained well enough to treat him themself.

I'll never understand how a parent can just leave their child to grow up without their support. I can't even imagine not being involved with my daughter. My heart breaks for these kids. I'm actually a single parent myself, my daughters mother is unfortunately one of those people.

That bullshit scared straight program isn't going to help the special needs kid. He's smart and well spoken. His mother needs to find a better therapist. One that teaches both child and parent how to communicate more effectively. Especially when he's angry. Not one who recommends jail.

That last kid melted my heart. I have a son with high functioning autism and there's really not a lot of places to help them. I just want to hug him and his mom. I've been there and done that. They really have a hard time with meltdowns. Most can't control it.

I have Asperger’s and in kindergarten until the middle of grade 3, I had fairly serious aggression issues. I NEVER *intentionally* caused harm. It’s not like I got a kick out of hurting my classmates. Without proper cognitive empathy, I couldn’t feel their pain so it’s not like I could enjoy it. It wasn’t sadistic, it was me not understanding how and why my behaviours were bad and harmful. I just had a lot of rage and pain in me because of sensory overloads, often caused by my classmates. So I’d act out as a way of I guess trying to communicate that I was NOT okay. I did realize eventually in the second half of grade 3 how bad my behaviours were and I never hurt anyone ever again. The boys said the first time he robbed his classmate, his classmate was laughing and didn’t seem upset. His Asperger’s interferes with his ability to see and understand that not all laughter is a sign of enjoyment. It also gets in the way of him understanding that just because something is funny once, doesn’t mean that person will find it funny again. As for the second boy, he could very well have ODD - Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Sending kids and teens with autism to a correctional facility is ridiculous. You CANNOT scare the autism out of someone. You CANNOT cure autism. They need behavioural therapy.

these kids need more creative outlets, even if you like breaking shit. i remember once when i was doing community service as a teen (constantly getting arrested / in trouble) i was working at a recycling center and an older guy came up to me and said, "you look bored, i need you to break ALL these glass bottles...", i spent the rest of the day throwing bottles at a brick wall into a big pile of broken glass. it's one of my favorite memories. sure it didn't cure me, but young boys need a way to get out their aggression in a responsible manner

The problem is not teaching kids to deal with there emotions and real tough life events, need to teach them about accountability and keep them busy and happy with positive activities like sports, art and etc. If it’s a psychological issue than you gotta get them counseling and talk positively about it don’t say they’re crazy.
