Thats not a bad idea! The tourist destinations, such as Cancun, will face economic stimulus! There's plenty of ranches they can buy from the locals too, and maybe land values will go up.

I had a Mexican show up at my door asking if he could mow my lawn. He did not have a mower and so I let him use mine. He was wearing dress shoes so I gave him an old pair of my work boots and some gloves. He now has a landscape company. I gave him a trailer and introduced him to some of my neighbors so he could get some business. Very thankful, very hard working. He had just arrived two days before from Mexico when I met him.

My Mexican parents would make me work in the fields as a child, picking onions, asparagus, cucumbers, apples, strawberries, and the worst one as a child was Jalapeños. Talk about burning your eyes! That taught me three important life lessons. The value of a dollar, humility and most importantly how to work my ass off. Now I live debt free and have more in the bank than ever before, I just bought my mom a Mercedes for Christmas. I thank God for all He’s given me.

Ayy It’sJoaquin heres the thing though America became what it is because people had the backbone to stand up for what they wanted to see changed and it happened. MLK Rosa Parks Abraham Lincoln and many more leaders. The issue is if Mexico is that bad people need to stand up and demand change you see protests everywhere in the USA make them happen in Mexico to get the gov’t to do something about it. The issue seems to be Hispanics in Mexico will not stand up for what they want to see changed and just try to run away from it if Americans did that that wanted change legal slavery without pay may still be a thing and many other things that were bad before. Stand up and fight for your homeland just like Americans did and still do to this day. Plus they under pay these people cause they know they can get away with it. So honestly you are defending the rich who hoard all their money and under pay most of their workers.

The fact that you even just said what you said shows that you have no idea what it's like out there. They're not taking our jobs just because they walked a thousand miles to do it they're taking our jobs because the work for practically next to nothing like $4 an hour when legal minimum wage is 725. The reason they're stealing all our jobs is not because we don't want him it's because we can't get them because they work for so cheap that they won't give the job to a white man anymore. They only give it to the ones that work for $4 illegally, which puts a complete Monopoly on the f****** industry of carpentry or any other construction aspect known to man and then nobody else but illegal immigrants can get in on the industry anymore because they don't work for $4 a f****** hour like goddamn dirt balls

Mexicans are the best labourers I know. I worked in a Salmon facility in AK for 4 seasons. My regular shift was 16hrs daily. As a supervisor, I needed people for an additional shift. It would be the Mexicans volunteering for the extra 4hrs for clean up, making it a total of 20hrs for them, 7 days a week for 3 months. They never complained of fatigue and still found it possible to laugh and be in high spirits. My girlfriend now is a Mexican:)

Go back to where you came from and learn to write in a manner that is not painful to read. Mane365 Mrtnz You might celebrate American holidays but not all of these do. They wave the Mexican flag and never bother to learn English. And YES they do get sent back. 2wks later they are back to work. Usually under a different name then the time b4. So sick of them. My cousin worked in a Greenhouse with hundreds of illegal immigrants. They bragged about how quickly they can be back on the job after being deported. Talked about how they change their names every so often to stay ahead of the law. Dirt bag lying scum. If they don't want to be American then go back to your own country and change it. Stop trying to change mine.

What’s terrible about this whole situation is that Mexico is so rich with natural resources and manpower. Mexicans work hard and understand family values. Yet, the country’s full potentials have been brutally suppressed by a tiny minority of rich and ultra corrupted ruling class in Mexico City. They have deliberately kept their own people poor and oppressed, in order to maintain control. The US or El Norte is used as a safety valve to keep those at the bottom rung of society from revolting, like they did in the 19th century. Moreover, by encouraging the disenfranchised people to go north, work hard and send money back home to their families, the ruling class can avoid the responsibility of providing an economic well-being and a safety net for their poorest citizens. If the US succeeds in closing its southern border, perhaps that will be a blessing in disguise for Mexico; because the poor and disenfranchised will have to face their oppressors and demand changes. Mexico has the potential to be a powerful nation if the people decide to drain the swarm of Mexico City and make it a better place. Mexican brothers, why sneak across the border to someone else’s country and forgo your human dignity to get taken advantage of by cheap Gringos, all the while despised by them, just so you can prop up a system that is keeping you down? You, the children of great men, such as Pancho Villa, should make Mexico great again by demanding for changes. Mexico has all the great potential to be an equal to the US, only if you clean house of the leeches and start again. I’m sorry that I cannot write this in Spanish so more of you can see my pleads to you to take actions for the future of your children.

My parents always tell me once I go to college and I need money for books I can work in the fields so I can pay for them I’m thankful they told me that because if I’m not accepted in any jobs at least I know I can work in the fields. I moved for a short time to a northern state where the majority of the landscaping people were white guys and they would often be sitting , texting on their phone, sitting under a tree "resting" I would hire a Mexican for hard labor before I ever hired a 20 year old white boy with no work ethic.

I am a proud American! Raised in Atlanta, Ga. My parents are from a proud southern heritage as well. They farmed hogs in Cumming, Ga. My entire life has been lived in the Southeastern United States. And here's what I will say...After 45 years on this planet, I've learned to ALWAYS see a man (or woman) for the merits they bring to the table. Some of the hardest working people I have ever met in my life were Mexicans. Some of the kindest people I have ever met in my life were African American. White, Black, Brown or Yellow, we all have the potential to be great HUMAN BEINGS! One of my best friends as a child was from Durango, Mexico. As a result, I was exposed to his culture over the years. I learned to appreciate our differences and understand our similarities. We all need to get past societal misconceptions and understand that we are stuck on this 3rd rock from the sun together! I have great respect for all of my fellow citizens of the world! But it is incumbent upon us ALL to carry the load. Don't ever feel entitled because of your heritage! You are owed NOTHING due to your race, sex, religious orientation, etc. The merit of a man (or woman) is in his/her ability to rise to the occasion and put forth the effort to become a successful individual for the benefit of all mankind. God bless us all.

25 years ago, I worked for a landscaper in Ohio, on the outskirts of the suburbs. He owned several acres of property; where he had a storage facility and two greenhouses. He grew his own plants for his landscaping business. He had 15-20 employees all year round to tend the greenhouses and do the planting. On the other side of his property, he owned 4 houses; 3 of them he rented out, while the fourth one was much smaller and in very poor condition. He legally hired 3 Mexicans through some program in 1999 and 2000; and puts them up in that run-down house, which I thought was strange. Their names were Palo, Cristobal (Cris), and Taos. They worked from March until September, Monday-Saturday, 8am-8pm; and were the hardest working guys! I, along with my two close friends, Elias and Jamaal, became fast friends with these guys. Elias spoke fluent Spanish and Jamaal had a van and would drive these guys to wherever they needed to go to. I used to bring in muffins and granola bars every morning for breakfast for the six of us. During lunch break, the other employees noticed that Palo, Cris, and Taos weren't eating much. So, aside from me bringing in breakfast, the other employees were giving them extra food to eat. It was bizarre. They worked the first season and came back in 2000; stayed in the same house. In mid-April, Elias gets a different job, but continues to secretly help out Palo, Cris, and Taos; and that's when we find out about all of the unethical crap our boss was doing to them. Elias learns that those guys were paid a lot less than the American employees--which didn't surprise me. They were also paying rent and utilities. After speaking with the other home renters, Elias discovers that they were paying only $600/month in rent, while the Mexican guys were paying a whopping $1000/month for that crappy run-down house! And because the house was a fixer-upper, the utility bills were extremely high! And the boss refused to fix the house up! With everything they had to pay, they were lucky to send home $10 a week to their families; which explains why they had very little food to eat. We were sickened by all of this! One Saturday night, a few days before they had to pay the rent and utilities, Palo, Cris, and Taos had had enough. They gathered up all of the money they earned and left quietly back to Mexico! They didn't give the boss notice, because they knew he would take all of their money. And they waited until Saturday night because they were afraid that the boss would have them stopped before getting on the plane from Texas to Mexico! Now, because they didn't work on Sundays, the boss had no idea they were gone. When Monday rolled around, they were already in Mexico and the boss was pissed! He also figured out that Elias was helping them, but couldn't do anything because he was no longer employed with the company! Needless to say, the boss never hired another Mexican after that. Last I heard, he no longer has his landscaping business! Elias still keeps in touch with Palo. He's doing well and has a construction job in Mexico, making enough money to support his family.

Before I was done with high school I went straight to work at this cable factory in my hometown where almost every person didn’t know a drop of English and were here hanging on to their green cards. Working alongside Mexicans helped me realize what it means to be frugal and humble for everything you get in life. Unfortunately, no matter how hard they work or how long they stay with the factory, the stubborn managers will avoid any opportunities for giving raises or paid breaks. I’m saving for college currently and I want to be someone who stands up for all Visa holders rights here in the US. It is very hard to move forward when the systems above limit so many innocent people. :(

These are humble hard working people. I remember when these values were instilled in American workers. These days, most people don't want to be dirtied for any amount of income. They don't want to work hard. There is a clear sense of entitlement among our young people. And some deserve those types of jobs, such as those who have labored hard to educate themselves. But more often than not, there are people who don't have an education, don't have training, they possess no skills, yet they feel they deserve a high paying, low labor job.

you're full of it. You are eating up the narrative that the slave masters use to drive down the price of labor. Whether its immigrants from the big city or other countries; native folks like me (and i am a minority) are being displaced by people who employers know they can replace permanent jobs with temporary jobs and temporary people. Its to impart instability and ensure slave labor. Don't tell me I don't want landscaping or fruit picking jobs; its all I've done all my life; and I grew up on a farm and have no problem doing hard or dirty jobs. Stop listening to lies. There are lots of people like me struggling because you eat this garbage up.

Jupiter Stars, Great attitude. However, that is also racist. You cannot group people by religion, sex, sexual orientation, race, color, etc. People differ. I, for the millionth time, am not against illegals as a race, color or whatever. I say "I" because I cannot speak for others. The issue is illegal immigration. It, literally, is bad for the economy. If people didn't have a choice to hire cheaper labor, potential pay would be up. Welfare, for reasons unknown to me, pays more than working two jobs for some people. That needs to change. For balance to occur, we need factual data to determine cost of living against potential pay. You know, economics. This is not a heartwarming tale, this is law and structure. I am not for turning people away. Capitalism relies on growth in number and expansion. We need immigration. Just, the legal kind.

I love them so much I wish to help them when I become older, take them to places, build them a nice home, give my papa and mama a nice troka, buy them the things they never gave me I am grateful for them and they way they taught me to see life! ❤️😔

Back in the 80's, I worked for a chicken packing plant in FL. Almost 40 years ago, I earned $18 for the difficult and skilled labor. Then immigrants started coming in willing to work for far less and it drove the pay down for everyone. Today, the same job pays $10 an hour. Not at all their fault, but their presence and willingness to work for much less did take away good paying jobs.

Nowadays people keep regarding Mexicans as lazy. I do not see it. My parents work hard every day to provide for my siblings and I. When I graduated high school, my dad told me something that will never leave me. He told me that he didn't come to this country for his American dream. He came to this country for mine. Now almost 5 years later, I am in my first year in medical school and I could not be more grateful or proud of the parents that I have.

I'm an immigrant myself and I understand the struggle. My parents instilled the importance of education, which is why they never questioned me speaking spanish as a Afro-Latino in Los Angeles. I embraced the American culture, which my parents appreciated. They witnessed my assimilation with struggles, but always appreciated, attended, and encouraged education. They told me " Don't worry about not knowing Spanish, English and White society rules!" Although I understood at an early age, I was able to gain citizenship at 20, attended USC at 22 w/a major in communications, landing me a well deserved job. Parents from south of the border, teach your kids more than pedantry. We live in a IOT society. If your not familiar with IOT, look it up!

Funny thing is that I have a vacation property management business in Mexico and I have a hard time finding honest hard-working employees. Many don't show up or do crappy jobs. Many steal as well. I pay above average too. I think the hardest workers go to the US.

not to be mean but i have also seen were if the company is mainly ran by hispanics or a hispanic family who manages wether it's a fast food joint or a store or warehouse ussually they like to keep that way among their own because thats what they are familiar with. it's called nepotism and it's a real thing. im actually full blooded mexican myself and have seen the discrimination at play especially here in the central valley. even in a big city like stockton you will be lucky if you get a call back 6 months down the road.

Ebony Sweeney-Goodloe I suppose the jobs left are undesirable. For example over here they hire orange pickers. But farmers cannot afford to pay much for that job. The job is outdoors so it is done regardless of how hot or cold it is. And it’s physically demanding for hours at a time. Why pick oranges when they can work something else?

Because Americans are lazy. I offer homeless Americans jobs all the time but they are too lazy and rather ask for money in the corner of streets. When have you ever seen an illegal ask for money? They aren't lazy SOB like some Americans.

+Anuar Adame, WOW! Yes, there are addicts. Yes, there are disabled veterans and mentally ill people living on the streets. However, in America, we take pitty on the unfortunate and incapable. The farmers won't hire them, that's a separate issue. The citizens that can work cannot work a fifty hour job that doesn't begin to touch financial responsibilities of the citizen. We aren't hiding from law enforcement.

Its because democrats are paying people Americans to be lazy and homeless. Cut back the the amount people are being paid through welfare and other social services and that will solve the problem.

Americans wondering how we Mexicans endure at work, while doing it fast and good let me tell you how: First off, in Mexico we work at least 48 hours a week for about $1,500 pesos (~$90 USD). Usually the working conditions are rough; bad to no equipment, barely any rest times, working under the sun... And when we go to the US is basically the same thing but way easier and way higher payments, and to us 48 hours is not even "overtime". I think that maybe you Americans are so used to having it easy that don't realize the huge advantage you got just for being born in the US. I am amazed to know about people complaining about not getting payed $15 an hour when they work less than 40 hours a week. That's lazy

compared to the us dollar, the monetary value of a peso is laughable. and for the lower class and poor in mexico it's barely enough to support a family, even peanut butter is a luxury to some. even if its little pay and there vulnurbility to exploitation, most immigrants take it over what they can get paid home any day. a lot of people actually would be happy to go though legally. but some one from a low income and education and little to no marketable skills (for workers visa), there pathways to legalization is little to nonexistent. thats why there so many coming here illegally, it's wrong but there is not much choices for those folks (i know your comment is a month old but i wanted to share some comments, hope you dont mind)
