This RVHauler has received some special attention with paint matching the bed. Gregg from RVHaulers also takes you on a tour of a couple new the bed features, and shows what to look for with a funky leveling valve.

Greeg as a old truck driver im woundering how your abale to put the fifth wheel hitch at the tailend of the Box and not start to make the tractor nose lite. Don't get me wrong i love the work you guys do but like i said i have been driving Truck 18 wheelers for over 25 years and key place to have your fifth wheel is over drives or a little forward of the drives. Please give us your thoughts on this sir.

Duke is still for sale. Chief is a "new" RVHauler that hasn't been shown-off yet. This was his first appearance!

What was the OEM operation of the leveling system? What was the behavior before you "modified" it?
@rvhaulers7 жыл бұрын
Every time you started the truck, the system defaulted to having the rear airbags completely deflated. You then had to flip a switch on the dash to allow air to be filled. Press another button to inflate and deflate the bags to your desired level. You could actually add and remove air while driving as well. It was not automatic at all. It even had programmed features that would change the air pressure based on how fast you were driving. Really, we could not find out why someone would want this. You could actually over-inflate the bags if you wanted to. You could drive with no air, some air, or inflate them as much as 8 inches. What was also surprising, is what happened to the driveline angles. The under-inflation scenario introduced a huge vibration into the truck, because the ujoints were working so far out of proper angles.

Looks like a different fifth wheel hitch on this one?
@rvhaulers7 жыл бұрын
Good eye Mike! Yes that is a different 5th wheel hitch that is an option for somewhat "smaller/lighter" 5th wheels. If you are considering something a bit lighter (say a 38 footer or 40 footer) this hitch is a great solution made by Comfort Ride Hitches. They build a super hitch. If you are going with a 48 foot New Horizons or Spacecraft with over 7,000 lbs of pin weight, you should consider and ET SR Hitch.
