New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp is on tap, so who exactly are the undrafted free agents who will be running the show? On the latest episode of the Audacy original podcast Inside Black & Gold, Saints sideline reporter Jeff Nowak breaks down the offensive UDFAs in a first of two episodes diving into each of the 16 players the Saints brought in after the draft. That’s the offensive line, where the Saints have added three guard/center prospects (Kyle Hergel, Nouridin Nouili and Sincere Haynesworth) who will compete at a position where there’s a clear starting job to be won, and very few legitimate options to win it. Could one of these three be that guy?

@@rickybobby7326 it’s a mystery that J. Willams had 17 TDs the year before while last yr he got 1 on the last play of the year! How is that even possible?

Eh, that’s tough. My initial roster projection had zero UDFAs on it, and that included the unlikely cut of Jamaal Williams. To keep 3 UDFAs you’d be cutting veterans. Hergel feels like a good bet. Kibodi would have to beat out Jamaal. Then who do you cut for Holker? Keep in mind this is only half the picture, and there are a couple DBs that could make a push as well. I think one of those three guys makes it and the other two land on the practice squad (which is still a win for a UDFA).

@@WWLsports This is a new Saints philosophy! C'mon Man. Time to mix it up! The new offensive schemes require different players. I'm not an expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express!

In a year where they made like 3 draft picks I'd probably agree ... but you've already got 7 rookies you're trying to find space for. That's gonna make it more difficult for a lot of these UDFAs.

Did u know that Jamal Williams broke Philip Lindsey's NFL record streak, for carries without a fumble? Williams also led the NFL, in touchdowns, just 2 yrs ago.

One can argue that Derek Carr didn't do everything that he could to keep his position. Yes there are analysts and podcasters out there to go into that for him. Jamal will be fine
