I love that they casted someone who actually has Aspergers to play Sara. And they didn't make it her whole character, it's just a part of it and it doesn't make her life super easy but she also isn't a complete mess because of it. It's more the people around her that need to listen and adapt. I love that. This show really does so many things right.

Fr i love it so much. I don't think anyone without autism could do it as good as her. Bc the thing is as an autistic person i can just see that she's autistic. The way she looks around, the way she walks and talks. The way she literally did the same things as me: i talked to someone and they said that i was like different or something, and i just said "probably bc i'm autistic and have adhd". Like when i watched that i thought that nt people will probavly think that that was forced by the show, but no, it is so accurate to how we talk, lmao. (Obv not all of us, but it isn't abnormal)

It felt to me like it was a pretty understated portrayal of an autistic person but as someone who doesn't have much experience with it it seemed done pretty well. But hearing someone who actually knows what they're talking about, makes me feel more sure now! Kind of pointless to just assume something is good representation without hearing the represented people actually share their opinion haha.

can we just appreciate how the whole cast looks like real 17-19-year-olds??? like their skin is imperfect, some are very fit but there's plot reasons for that, and it's just amazing to not see airbrushed adults playing 16 year olds :D

i can't find info on frida's age and i think she might be slightly older than omar who's 22 but the others are 18~20 and it definitely feels nice to see people closer to their characters' age than their thirties playing high schoolers lmao

@@amiramegali9688 Not because it's not American, it's because it's not in English. English is an international language, so naturally Netflix advertises that more so that pretty much every country can understand the show/movie. Think about Anime: some people won't watch an Anime show if it has no English dubbing. It's not necessarily an unexpected thing, they're catering to a larger audience. Netflix is a business, after all. I personally don't mind TV shows in foreign languages, given I like linguistics :)

@@mariakara2419 for me, SKAM. Ive only watched the original, norwegian version. But there are French, Italian, Danish and more versions. I've heard that the french and italian versions are good, but havent had time to watch yet Love, Victor is also good. But, to me at least, shows like SKAM and Young Royals are so much better than it. anyway, these are the gay shows Ive watched. If you want movie recommendations, just say and ill give you.

Can we take a moment for the casting team and what a mind blowing job they did !?! All the actors are around 20 years (Wille is 18!?!) Sara actually has aspergers!! They didn't hide the acne and the chemistry between literally everyone ?!?

OMG YES. I was just noticing this when I watched the show. Idk if it was intentional of not but I noticed that as the show went on Wille had more acne which I felt like symbolized the stress he was feeling with his sexuality. I really think this show is so authentic and much better than other teen shows because I can actually relate to this

Felice is the character that grows so much on me. Tbh she isn't my definition of a "hot girl" and at first she annoyed me of how she tried to reach Wilhelm/his royalty and how she treated Sara, but as the series goes she learned to stand up for herself to find what she really wanted, became good friends with Sara and most importantly helped Wilhlem & Simon when she didn't need to.

What I loved the most about the show is that there wasn’t really like a villain. Everybody did bad things, and had their reasons which wasn’t justifiable but it portraits that people can do bad things but they are not bad people and that’s normal. Everybody has problems and a lot of times we don’t know how to deal with them or how to act. This show is just so raw in every aspect even the visuals, we could see actual people with no edits or with tons of makeup, it was just SO REFRESHING! And the story of simon and wilhelm was so endearing.. god i loved everything

This show is a masterpiece. The tension between the two characters is almost palpable, the actors have done an outstanding job here. But the individual scenes are also sometimes very touching due to good camera work, suitable cuts and moving music. As I said, the choice of the main characters is more than successful in my opinion. Above all, the fact that the actors actually still look like teenagers makes it more than authentic. I really hope that this series will have a second season so that we can follow the development of the other characters and Wilhelm and Simon get closer again.

Just the fact that some of the actors have actual acne made the whole show for me (and the amazingly written and acted out love story obviously). I guess the actors aren't actually teenagers anymore but still making an effort to cast realistic looking teens is so awesome and almost revolutionary at this point. And to not make them look all perfect and polished ties in perfectly with the theme of the show and as a viewer I honestly needed to watch a show like that. Makes you feel a little more normal, too.

Edvin is also still more an adult than a kid I'd say. But I mean 3 years or so age difference between character and actor is still better than 8 years or something lmao.

I just wanna say that, while Young Royals did so many things right, one thing that really stood out to me is how they treated Felice. As someone with a similar body type to Nikita's, it felt refreshing to see women like us being portrayed as attractive and desirable, even perfect to some characters. Idk, it was impactful to me. I also loved the scene where the girls were getting ready for Lucia together, just being so comfortable in only their bras. I never felt that comfortable even with my close friends. It was just lovely to see! This show deserves so much more love and praise! I hope Netflix allows the writers to naturally carry it to an end and doesn't cancel it! Much love to all of you

I can't believe I finished the series in one night like wtf, and if Netflix does not renew the series/make a second season I'm starting a RIOT because this is too good to not be continued (edit: also I love how authentic it is like in other shows like Riverdale there all so polished and pretty and run around town with no care in the world, but Young Royals shows you how real it is like how they really look like teenagers with all their acne and stuff and how they have lots of restrictions but in Riverdale, it's as if there's barely any laws.)

I could totally see Malte getting that part. And he probably would have been good, but I am glad they cast him as August. Wilmon WAS the chemistry. Simon and Willie are soulmates -- not shipping Edvin and Omar, just noting that they possess magical on screen chemistry. Magical.

I have never seen better chemistry between any on screen couple -- ever -- hetero or same sex. Edvin and Omar MUST do another show together some day. Maybe not to typecast them as lovers -- maybe as friend in a comedy or something. They are too too good togeher -- like Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall (who were before my time, I promise. I am not that old).

I've never understood why tv shows put so much make up on characters and hide their blemishes... It just don't make sense. I could never relate to characters because they didn't have body hair like me, or dark circles and shit ton of pimples and a very pale brown face.... And this feels kinda comforting that they're all just rawly themselves.

The way they didn't know how ppl would receive their show and how big it would end up. BESTIES WE ARE SERIOUSLY SO ATTACHED TO YOUR SHOW. I honestly think it's perfect; the portrayal of the characters, the top-tier acting, the chemistry, the songs, the production, the message, the plot, the ending!!!! Hands down 🙇♀️

I love that Edvin can relate to Wilhelm when he’s nervous or having panic attacks. I was like damn.. I do exactly the same thing as Wilhelm. Very cool that the characters are so relatable, it gave me comfort. Second season please 👏

Sure, we've all had many bad memories in highschool, but it's nice to see that the characters in the series are more than just bullies and goody-two-shoes. Each of the character have their dark and light sides, with acne, bad hair days and whatnots... just like REAL TEENAGERS! It's also so refreshing to see more depth, culture and diversity in teenage drama series. It's good to see trilingual kids talking as most of us in the world can relate to this! This series have opened my eyes more, looking through the lenses of two boys, in contrasting environments, going through adolescence phase, like us all. I'm a straight female and went to a Catholic private school all my life. I have met kids like them and had seen the superficial side of their lives. But, it's eye-opening and touching to take a glimpse of what's really going on to them emotionally. I'm so in love with the characters and rawness of the story. Kudos to the cast and crew of Young Royals! Can't wait for Season 2!

I would literally watch anything with this cast, even if it was a chat of them talking about what they did the day before. They seem to be quite genuine and nice people in general, so I can't even comprehend how funny the set must have been with them all. This is the best series I have ever seen. The actors played their roles so well that you experience all their feelings and excitement together with them. Especially Edvin - a young, but such a talented actor. There is no vulgarity in the series, only true love. 🥰Looking forward to season 3.

Young Royals maybe a international show, but everyone can understand and relate to the story. It is about finding out who you are. It’s about finding your place in the world. It’s about knowing that the way you feel isn’t wrong, its perfect for you. Doesn’t matter if you are a regular person or from a wealthy family or even from royalty. Being you is the greatest thing that you can do. Young Royals is the best show to showcase that.

this show is amazing in so many ways. teenagers are actually being played by real teenagers, one of the main characters is a person of color, showing that the main characters have acne and that it is okay is so pure. even the prince has acne which is a wonderful message to send to whoever is struggling with that. this show also tells young adults to be who you are to express yourself freely. can't wait for season 2

i could write pages on how much i love this show but i'll just say that this is the best tv show i've watched in a long long time (if not ever) - the characters felt so genuine and human and easy to relate to for teens because they weren't glamourized at all (other than wille being a prince obvs) nor airbrushed, plus wilhelm and simon's relationship was so believable and well thought out - it wasn't stretched out or rushed or anything like that (but they better end up together istg). sara being played by an autistic person is also great and so rare in cinema. it was just all so real. anyway, i fucking love young royals and it literally has to be renewed for season 2 because it is my oxygen and i cannot live without it
