So excited to see everyone living their dreams! My husband and I were total newbies on the AT last year and hiked NOBO until Damascus. We had to go home and take care of some things but we wouldn't label it as a failed thru hike. We like to call it a really great shake down hike! We hope to be back this year to try out a SOBO if all works out as planned. So far I am subscribed to Hiking With Jenny, Alicia in the Mountains, and Tara Treks. The SOBOs (yourself included) are intriguing if for no reason other than going against most of the traffic. I like John's plan to end at Pine Grove Furnace, near his home. Watching people gear up for long hikes in the coming year is my favorite way to combat my post holiday blues...I am not a fan of long cold winters and after the holidays things just seem so dull... these videos give me something fun to dream about. :) I will be watching Hiking with Jenny and Trailbound Faith to start but I am sure I will watch several others as well. As a teacher and father of a daughter, I am looking forward to seeing the adventures of Mama Bear and Baby Bear. I've watched other family hikers the past few years and that dynamic is very interesting to me.
