With that Ford Twin I Beam Front suspension and all the towing you do, it's almost expected to have that type tire wear on the outer edge of the tire. That cupping and pup pup pup noise you're talking about, I'd suggest some good quality heavy duty shocks because of all your towing. That noise you're likely hearing is your tire bouncing like a basketball being dribbled down the court. What people don't realize, they think shocks control bounce and carry weight. NOPE, they do not carry weight, that's what the springs do. They do however control bounce but that's their secondary job. Primary purpose of shocks is to hold the tire to the pavement so it doesn't dribble. To help that tire wear in the front with all the towing you do, if you haven't already, possibly consider adding some overload leafs, like maybe 800-1000lb or so. Trust me, it does have an affect on the front tire wear, esepcailly with Twin I beam suspension.
