The actors I’ve met gave autographs for free (granted most were voice actors) but they did it cause they cared about the fans and not themselves. One particular actor (Vic Mignogna) said to me “I already make a good living I don’t need more of your money” what a guy!

In a lot of these conventions the actors aren't actually getting any of the money for the autographs. It goes to the convention and the film companies behind the movie they are promoting. These signings are a part of their contract when they sign on for a role, part of the promotion for the film/role etc. Some of these Actors/Actresses have to sign thousands of autographs and take pictures with fans.

I met Ron Perlman a few years ago. He's got a dry sense of humor. My son knows him as Hellboy, which is the picture he signed. I smiled and said, pointing at my son, "He might know you as Hellboy ... I remember you as Vincent." He said, "Yeah, I remember myself as Vincent too." Good dude.

I should have gotten his autograph in my 1967 George Washington H.S yearbook, as we graduated together. At the time, i wasn't in his social circle so i never bothered to ask for it. He became one of my favorite actors...i wish him the very best in life.

I met Ron Perlman one year at Phoenix Fan Fusion. He was so welcoming. I told him I loved him in Sons Of Anarchy and that he made the show. He looks at me and said, “You know why?” I said no. Then he got this big smile on his face and said, “Cause I’m so pretty!” He was so great!😊👍🏻

He is a nice man, but he's also very shy. For most of his career, Perlman was a costumed character under piles of makeup. Few knew his actual face and this gave him privacy. Now, everyone knows his face and he's grown to be guarded.

Plus, he got his own picture signed, right? Not one of the ones on the table? That's a more expensive price too

Looks like a guy kinda disenfranchised with the whole thing. I went to comic con a while back and met up with Mike MIgnola. Kinda had no real energy for it and felt like he treated it like a grind. Who am I to say. I still watch anything Pearlman is in, read whatever Mignola produces. Just because they make cool stuff doesn't mean they need to be overly friendly, I suppose.

I would definitely let my family / friends know about it afterwards . I’m not going to spend all that hard working money for someone to just completely ignore me and be disrespectful . These actors DO get paid up front ahead of time pretty well , just to be there . The money you give them for a signed autographs are just extra tip money .
